How does matchmaking work in ranked??
I'm in bronze iv and I've been put in matches with silver players. I'm so confused about why I'm being placed with them. I'm getting flamed for not being able to keep up.

You have a low # of games played and they system has not closed the gap between your MMR and your Rank yet. Your usualy given a lower ranking then your starting MMR because 8 games is not that large of a sample size. Plus it also tends to make people invest a bit of time to climb to their ranking and which is good for riot as they want folks invested and needed because you want to have raitings be reliable so if some one cant maintain 50% at their MMR then their Rank does not belong there.
Don't trust a Rank until you see a good # of games on the account.
It means ur doing well.. you'll lose less points per loss
