ARAM- those times you wanna post because of the irony
Just got out of a match (last one for a while, but I had a small window of freed time and decided "hey, this is short and sweet, has shorter queue time than Twisted...lets try it). Queue twice because first one has the standard dc, takes around 21 seconds for me to get in. Great =D. I get Yi...anyone who queues with me knows that Melee characters and I DO NOT MESH. I see Ashe, I ask to swap, to my delight- I get her. No one says much of anything in the Select, except for me saying "thx ^^" iirc.
Queue starts, loading screen shows up. Most matches in ARAM are decided when you see that btw, its a reason ARAM is a way to up your potential in either survival (I chose survival, we had very little chance) or 1v5 the team because communication on ARAM teams is terrible. I usually queue with friends because ABOVE.
Ashe, Master Yi, Annie, Veigar, Swain VERSUS Darius, Renekton, Soraka, Heimerdinger, Ryze
My thoughts during Loading Screen: "Ok. So we have 2 stuns, I don't know much of Swain and I never seeeeeeeeeeee them roll tanky. They have a stun, 2 roots, a silence, and a pull (to begin with). So they've won CC. They have Darius and Renekton for tanks, bad for me. Their melees can engage. Heimer has zone control" (and as all Heims do, me included, they hug the bush and camp the ADC...expected). I already know we lost, and as posted above, I decided to test my ability to survive and poke while not overextending. Why was this my goal? Because in Summoner's Rift, I tend to not pay attention to my positioning and end up dying very often despite how many kills I may or may not get.
Ryze shows up late to the party, I notice. I also see we die a few times (I was poking when the first 3 kills went down) all on us, I think we may have gotten 1 out of said trade. I then see my decision was good, and continue to safely poke away . Knowing Soraka will heal all my damage, I try to poke her. She quickly heads into the furball of her team, and hangs out in the back. Close enough for experience, far enough that I can't poke. My team continues rushing out into them instead of letting them bum rush our turret. Score quickly goes in their favor. I am pretty much unable to poke at this point because on the last trade I had 50 hp. I wanted to practice survival, not expedition. Team begins to rage at me for not being able to "Just go in". I obey the Yi (he was the most vocal, the one who said just go in), thinking that I might as well make my team happy even if it messes up my surviving practice. I die. I tell them it was a bad idea and that it was a 4v5 (Ryze hadn't shown yet). Yi says to keep diving into the team (basically). I had 1 death, 1 assist, 0 kills. Reason? No, not my lack of poke . I popped my W when it was off cooldown, and on this match I thought my team was going to hug turret more so I started with 2 points in Q (the slow) and 1 in E(money) hoping my team would let me CS a bit since 3 gold is a big deal. No, instead, I had no kills because my team never dove together into the other team, they went out indiviudally or (rare case) in duos. I think we may have had half a teamfight somewhere later in the match, but I went in as they backed off (I had no chat in my team because I was going insane with how much they wanted to blame me for not feeding the enemy team in a losing matchup). This results in 1 kill, or if not at least that, making another opponent low. Soraka heals them if low, if dead they come back stronger. They leave the one they decide as bait to be low. Team continues trying this free for all tactic. I continue poking Heim who would not let me out of bush (I tried when I got back, immediately less than 200 hp as he decided to ult me with missles and a nade).
Game goes on, IRL distraction occurs that is necessary to attend to. Turret barely tapped (2000 hp). I decide it will be safe for me to stay at Inhib turret. It is, but I return with our turret dying. I click move to it, it breaks, I click back. I continue hugging turret. I had muted team because they kept complaining about my "tactics" and my "skill", trying some very vulgar methods of swearing and some very left-field methods like "do you have school tomorrow ashe? gonna learn to be a good ADC?". Anywho, I defend. I can't do much. Tanks in front, Ryze in middle, Soraka in back- Heim? Yep, right in that bush. Camping me. I twitch away from Darius, he shoots. I go away from Heim, Darius whacks me. Lovely bleeds on my glassy character. I do what I can, survive and poke Darius. During defense of this turret, I die by my own mistake. I was proud, I had died just once of my own accord- the other was because I wanted team to be happy that I wasn't useless. We lose. 'nuff said.
After game chat, they swear at me (Vigoolin in particular (hope I spelled his name right) kept saying "f### you, repeat, repeat again, then F### you and your B#### mother" then made comments about having intercourse with my mother. Annie, no idea of summoner name- she had said one thing before I was forced to mute team to save my sanity- told them to report me for toxicity because I was a toxic player (toxic means I was rude right?). The one thing I said, and I do apologize if it offended anyone but I had to say it because I was losing my temper, was "tell me if my team says anything useful please, they keep raging at me". I am sorry if that was rude. Swain also raged at me.
So I guess I have two things to ask.

Was it wrong of me to decide in ARAM to up my survival skills? I barely used flash...apparently you can go into a fight and if you are not focused (or stay away from Heim) you can poke something a few times.

Am I in the wrong if I think I did nothing wrong? Before someone says "you are a sucky player" or one of my teammates decides to stalk me and attack my forum post as well, I told you why I did what I did. I didn't play badly, I didn't do anything crazy. I intentionally did not feed or assist the enemy team.
=( I'm sorry if this seems whiny, I just... I'm at a loss right now where I did something to anger my team. Were they mad that I didn't dive into the other team? Should I shut my entire life out (most of which I can't because life is busy) so I can play a game? Please help.
