@Riot please make sure bot lane ziggs stays relavant

Ziggs bot is amazing, it's a champ that isn't a marksman who is viable botlane, without needing some absurd gimmick slapped on
(cough cough) it means that it isn't on the top laner to pick an ap champ and a tank, because your mid laner is a "smurf" who picks zed, and your jungler decides that lee is the perfect champ when your team is full ad with no frontline. Can you try to make sure it stays relevant in the meta, the play rate is already dropping as games are starting to go longer, and adc's start outscaling him way faster than they used to thanks to

Isn't ziggs bot entirely based around the absurd gimmick on his W and forcing out an early tower?

typically you need an ADC on a comp because of the tower sieging. Not only can the W take down a tower at 25% hp, but his auto attack passive also deals bonus damage to turrets. He works for sieging.

yeah but compared to morde just getting more xp if he is in a duo lane, its pretty sane, since atleast it fits thematically, and does provide him with a choice he has to make since thats his only hard cc and his escape, with a long cooldown

It fits him thematically but you have to remember that there is a difference between a gimmick making an AP ranged go bot and HUGE gimmicks making a tanky melee go bot.

Yeah the gimmicks aren't up to the same level but ziggs still relies on his W gimmick to get through.

he probably would still be going bot though if they buffed his passive tower damage, even without that gimmick, he was mostly brought bot because he can chunk towers from level 1, and bot tower is the only one without fortification at the beginning of the game, and he provides better siege than anyone in the mid game, so he can snowball really well with first tower gold. The W is more of an added bonus that pushes ziggs bot over the top into viability but he isn't reliant on it to survive there like morde is

no. his W damage against towers is the only thing really keeping in him in bot. with it he can adequately replace an ADC when it comes to seiging.

i feel like your undervaluing his passive it allows him to put 100% of his ap against towers at level 13 not even counting lichbane or the natural ap ratio against towers, he can litterally put out 200% ap on one auto against a tower at level 13,

I think people are looking at the wrong things. Ziggs kit allows him to siege towers and helps him fill a role similar to an ADC. The main difference is everything else. I mean, Ziggs is ultimately a mage, and does way more burst damage than most ADC's in lieu of better DPS. Thus begging the question, can you sacrifice the DPS in your team comp? The answer to that might be team comp dependent. A heavy Teamfight, may favor the extra AoE, if the enemies are all grouping real close.

There's also the matter of Extra magic damage. Are you taking Ziggs because the rest of the team is AD centric? Over all, Ziggs has niches which he can fill. As long as there's not an inherent problem with him in the bot lane, (Riot doesn't seem to have one) They are not going to remove him from the role.
