Just a reminder to low elo that the meta barely affects us

Right now we are in a lethality, mage support, assassin meta, but if you're in the bottom half of the player population, that barely means jack. Tanks are still unkillable to people down here because no one buys a last whisper til they have 3 lethality items, or 2 crit items and a bloodthirster. assassins may be viable, but aside from Ahri, barely anyone down here can play them properly, although this goes both ways since we can't play against them either. Finally, a mage support needs an ADC with a brain larger than an ant's or a working monitor, neither of which are common here, because of this the ability to save your idiot marksman is invaluable making regular supports far stronger. I'm saying this because i just won 2 games because of idiots who are trying to copy from higher elo just don't you make games a complete stomp, just play normally.

I played gp support one game and cooperated with my team died because jhin and leona combo with triple cc kill me and I had fun doing it even though we lost I had more damage then the evelynn who reported me for trolling when I played to the best of my ability on it

Agreed, in low elo the meta doesn't mean jack shit. It's literally about who has the worst player on their team. This was the team comp that I had one game

Sion Ivern Zilean Ezreal Thresh VS Mordekaiser Ziggs Jhin Kayle

I was Ivern and my team won. Based on team comps alone my team shouldn't have had a chance. But we still won because the enemy Vi and Kayle were trash that game. They had 1st blood, and 1st tower, and better pretty much everything besides better players. It's why i love low elo, the meta is just a guideline down here.

im not so sure vi and mordekaiser are useless in teamfights and can be kited because of ivern + zilean cc, and thresh + ivern are good at making picks especially on there squishies. and the kayle who I assume is support prob doesn't provide much either. So if you get a lead in laning phase winning the game is probably not to hard especially with vision control and even more so if thresh builds redemption and aegis while kayle builds ap or some stuff as that would negage the ziggs burst and jhin ult and would help even more so against vi especially with zilean ult and speed ups and thresh peel and ezreal already being hard to catch and ivern utility along with sion being a good tank.

Also even if we don't have the same meta as high elo there is still a certain meta. Though if you learn the meta champs in high elo you can honestly prob carry a lot easier in many cases. Like being good at Ryze and Jayce can probably take you places right now but most people in my elo don't seem to play or try to learn them.

I was thinking the opposite before you said it - your team had the better comp, by a gigantic margin actually...

Sion is a way better top laner than morde, and frankly is sleeper op. Ivern and vi are both incredible, however at low elo Ivern can help his team more while vi needs to carry. Zilean and ziggs are also both incredible, and again zilean can offer more to the team while ziggs needs to carry. Ezreal and jhin are both great picks Thresh is a top tier support while kayle is borderline troll as support (not literally, but she's really not a good support).

Your team has 5 meta picks and strongly resembles an LCS team comp AND has MANY win conditions and strength playing from behind.

Their team has 3 meta picks, one win condition (vi ziggs or jhin/kayle get really fed in Lane and carry), and only one option when behind (ziggs stalling).

It doesn't discredit your point (what matters in low elo is not having trash) although in low elo having low skill champions and more tanks / utility is often a good indicator of ability to win (so having lots of to Tier carries isn't good anyways).

It seems like the meta is creeping down to lower and lower elo. Last season I got to silver 1 from placements in silver 3 playing whatever i wanted. this season the only way i could get back to silver 5(from placements in bronze 1)was by playing the meta. I tried playing whatever I wanted and I was not climbing. For that reason I haven't been playing much ranked.

Maybe you just aren't as good of a onetrick as you thought...? Which isn't a bad thing tbh, just means your general game knowledge is pretty on-par with your champion-specific skills.

yeah thats what happens when you one trick an off meta champ. i was playing teemo mid, i have over a million mastery points. i don't think i suddenly got bad at my main champ. the stealth changes fucked me over and teemo and other off meta champs just cant carry anymore.

Lol, you made playing the meta sound like an inherent disadvantage for you performance-wise, and people who aren't tied down by champion specific mechanics usually don't feel that way. Usually, people like who are bound to those kind of mechanics are at least somewhat onetricks.

When I started playing the meta, I started winning MORE. Therefore, I am not tied down to a specific champion. I'm suddenly better at playing a meta champ I learned last week than I am with my main since s4? That's the opposite of bound to mechanics. That means the meta is so enforced even in silver that I could learn a meta champ in a few days and beat people against their off meta mains.

I dunno. I've been abusing Shaco with lethality pretty hard. I usually average a 55% winrate with Shaco, and my win rate right now is sitting at 68%.

I'm not 'high elo' myself, but I personally consider anything below Diamond (maybe even mid-diamond) to be relatively low-elo in terms of player quality. Not to be condescending though, cause I myself am a brainless fucking monkey.

that doesn't mean i condone every odd choice made by a pro being copied in non pro. you have to understand that choice first, if it was a singular event for a specific counter (i think that's how mf supp started), or if it was an accident (teemo jg), or if they are experimenting and pull it off cus they're that good (tank nami top by dyrus), or if they're actually cheesing the game in its current state and you have less than 1 patch to do it too before it's addressed.
