Yasuo windwall can't stop all cc

MysticFlameHaze··7 votes·1,645 views

As a Yasuo player, i have found it annoying that when facing a teemo in any lane, whenever teemo's abilities is cast which blinds a champ when it is blocked by his windwall the damage and projectile are gone but the blind still takes effect. i find that frustrating and think its should be fixed seeing that when quinn's blind is blocked the blind doesn't take effect on Yasuo. Another thing which i believe should be changed is when playing vel koz against yasuo he can block your E projectile and damage but it can't stop the knock up, i don't fully understand why riot has decided to keep it that way but it'd make sense that if an ability is stopped the effects should not still continue. I play Yasuo and Vel Koz and i can find it unfair that you can still apply the E cc. which leaves there are probably other abilities that he can block but still take effect on him or his teammates, you can block a braum ult but not stopped the slow.

On Vel'koz, you're wrong. It should not be blocked, and does not because it's not a projectile in the first place, it's a ground targeted AoE spell.

Stars Shaper4 votes

Wrong, You can see the projectile thingy move to the AoE zone. It's not like Cho Q.

Zirzon1 votes

But it is coded like cho q, so it is technically the same reasoning.

Stars Shaper1 votes

If it was coded that way it wouldn't be blocked. The visuals make a bigger emphasis on the ground popping thing.

No, you are still the one who is in error. What you are seeing is a well-known graphical error that we have all known about since Yasuo's release.

And how an ability "looks" does not change what the ability is. Tristana's Rocket Jump does not make her "Airborne", for example, so a person can't complain about it being bugged that Yasuo can't ult her.

Stars Shaper2 votes

Well show me where is told that it's not a projectile triggering the skill because as it reads on LoLwiki:

"ACTIVE: Vel'Koz hurls an anomaly at the target location.* When it lands, it collapses**, dealing magic damage and Stun icon suspending enemies hit for 0.75 seconds."*

So even in the description it fits the projectile nature of the skill.

About Tristana jump it has been made like that for balance purpose and it was talked about in a long discussion at Yasuo release where Riot told us that they chose on purpose not to make self impose knockups triggering Yasuo Ultimate (Jayce and Jax Jumps are examples too).

Forgive me, my mistake.

'And how an ability "looks" or what it's flavor text says does not change what the ability is.' There we are. And even your own source, LoLwiki, says that it is not a projectile. Why do you have such a stick about this?

Stars Shaper2 votes

hurls an anomaly that explodes after landing. here is your projectile, if you can't read it isn't my fault.

and downvotes won't change reality

" Tectonic Disruption is a ground-targeted area of effect. " -LoLwiki

i.e., not a projectile. I have no idea why you are being so stubborn about this. Jeez, just admit you are wrong; it's not like it will make me think less of you for it.

Stars Shaper2 votes

That is because the effect is an area and it's not a point&click skill. Anything of what you wrote denies its projectile nature. And also a couple of paragraèh below it reads "travel time" which is something related to projectile skills.

I admit that I'm wrong when I actually am wrong. You seem to be pretty dense about this when there are visual, description and mechanics at work that say "It's a friggin' projectile".

that means the spell takes effect on the ground, not that it is not a projectile. you are in the wrong.

That's not how the LoLwiki functions. That is not what the term means, nor how it is used, nor representative of the game. i.e.: "No."

many champs in the game can still be hit while in the air it is not only tristana, that was never a bug, being airbone does not make someone invunerable.

Please re-read the post again. That is not what I wrote nor the meaning of it.

Vel' Koz E is a projectile, if you look at the animation properly there is an object traveling to the point before it lands

Must be a bug bro.

Blinding Dart is a single target ability. Applies spell effects as a single target ability. Hextech Revolver Spell vamp is fully applied. Rylai's Crystal Scepter will apply a 35% slow. Magic damage will be mitigated by magic shields. Banshees VeilSpell shields will block the ability. This ability is considered to be a projectile for Unbreakable and Wind Wind Wall.

Could also be a crummy ping glitch...this is Riot servers were talking about :-\

Teemo blind is a point-and-click ability and Yasuo windwall blocks projectiles

Stars Shaper2 votes

Flash News, Point&Clicks can be projectiles and Teemo's is an AA modifier which means it is a projectile.

DrCyanide7 votes

... Teemo's Q is not an Auto Attack modifier. But you are correct about how point and click can be projectiles.

Stars Shaper1 votes

Doesn't it work like Garen/Morde Q? They are "Activated Strikes" with modified effects (silence/damage)

DrCyanide1 votes

Nope. It has nothing to do with his Auto Attack. Longer range, and you can't cast it until your target gets in range.

Stars Shaper1 votes

K cool

Saint Archer2 votes

it's still a projectile, auto attacks are point and click and they're blocked by windwall

news flash, it's called a news flash, not a flash news. also it's not an aa modifier, his E is an aa modifier, his Q is a separate point and click skill.

Is this a letency issue? I saw a video with old Sion and Annie against a Yasuo - their stuns looked to go through the wind wall. A Rioter responded with latency stated as the reason.

My question is therefore "Did you put the wind wall up reactively, or was it up when Teemo cast his blind?". Another question to ask is "Does Annie's Q get blocked?".

Tengrichan1 votes

Annie's Q definitely goes through the wall.I think it is coded as Nunu's iceball dealing the dmg upfront and not on arrival of the projectile and that's some major bullshit.

it happens all the time, not completely sure about the concept you're talking about but the blind still follows through even if i use his wall before anyone attacks each other

All I hear is 'Wah! Wah! Wah!'

AHeroNamedHawke1 votes

Targeted spells will go through Wind Wall about half the time if you try to cast it reactively

Something to keep in mind

Stars Shaper2 votes

It still seems a bug that should be fixed asap.

I much as I hate the idea of windwall (Yasou in general), since it's alrieady in the game, it should be fixed. The Teemo blind should not go into effect if it blocked by windwall. It is a projectile.

Vel'koz E. I am iffy on whether or no this is a projectile. I watch a video of it and I can see arguments for and against it.

Braum ult should not be blocked at all. It is not a projectile, it is a ground effect.

Braum ult should not be blocked at all. It is not a projectile, it is a ground effect. it's considered a projectile according to coding, in the game, but not sure if i got my point across on the last one, does block braum's ult and the knock up but not the slow

Daedalus8711 votes

I know Braum ult is coded as a projectile, but I still think that no part of it should be blocked by windwall.

Sona Ping1 votes

I'm inclined to agree. Depth Charge "passes under" the wind wall, it would seem be fair to consider other abilities for bypassing it; they are ultimates after all.
