Not only do they have carry levels of dps, they also are bruiser level tanky. I'm specifically looking at Ryze here. How is it acceptable that champ can shit damage out of his ass and still be impossible to actually win a fight as any sort of melee champ? The only option to shutting down a ryze is making sure he doesn't get fed or make it to late game in the first place. I'm actually sick and tired of these champs when these phases of the game don't actually exist anymore when everyone is living their late game fantasy at 2 freaking items.

I'm really curious how riot is going to fix this shit show in season 10.

You seem to not understand something here bucko.

Battle mage = AP bruiser

With the exception of some mages such as malzahar who are mis-typed, battle mages are generally HP+AP champions. Like AD bruisers they are also carries, but due to the simple fact that theyre AP and usually ranged they have the option to forgo defense unlike AD bruisers.

umm, you really think Ryze is op XD the guy has a lot of bad match-ups, no longer even has a point-click root, now you have to e enemies first. His ult is useless for most situations and more than often leads to his team dying. He is extremely mana hungry and if faced with assassins he will take even longer to reach his potential because quess what, Zhonya's costs. Riot even went as far as to remove his shield completely, there is nothing overpowered about him, atm he is a very subpar pick.

You know, I've played a ton of battle mages in my time here in League - Karthus, Malzahar, Brand. Morgana and Veigar can even be played that way. Know what makes it balanced even though I can build "tanky?" They're slow as shit. Fuck up and you're dead.

Ryze has no escapes either. Is anything stopping you from building magic resist, % health damage, or grievous wounds? You're not thinking outside the box.

Ryze isn't exactly strong, as opposed to 'impossible to balance'.

Riot's design team are sore losers in that they CANNOT accept their mistakes, and half literally reworked Ryze half a dozen times.

Most champions have never been reworked twice, much less at all. But they'll keep trying for Ryze because he is either broken or hot garbage, and Riot will refuse to admit it.

I think you've mistyped 'assassins'. No seriously the design is flawed in a pvp environment; either they're strong enough to do their job and have negligible counterplay, or they don't and have no power fantasy to make them interesting. But trying to put them somewhere between just makes them hyper-mobile bruisers.

i agree i dont like ryze i wish they would figure out a way to fix him in a rework for once instead of just breaking him a different ive always hated his itemization and his machine gun spell slinging comboed with the shield from the tear iteam ROA and mercs doesnt seem fair, i have noticed as of late he builds a lot more ap items than he has in the past and im happy for that but his dmg still seems insane. On top of it all he is like the only mid laner who doesnt take one of the "more damage" keystones.
