Require a champion to be Mastery level 3 for ranked.

I got this idea by reading post that are saying that new champions should be disabled for a few weeks in ranked. But I thought, if this is to prevent people from playing new champions in ranked, why is this different then other champions?

In the past, I have had people play champions for the very first time in ranked. There are very few times I have seen them win lane or even use their kit properly. For example: back when I was a Miss Fortune main, I've supported Miss Fortunes who I knew were not experience with her hit. They never harassed with her Q and constantly spammed her E, forcing them recall many times vs. our lane opponents.

I feel like a champion should be required to be mastery level 3, or have an allotted amount of games played on them in a normal game, before they are allowed in the ranked queue.

This would be extremely hard to implement because You already need 16 champions at least to even queue up for ranked in the first place, and it's a bad idea because this would severely limit champion pools of players. If this system were put in place an average player (Take me for example, who has played 85 different champions since champion mastery was announced, i'd be able to play 30) would only be able to around 25-30 champions on average, so looking into instances where you look to fill a role in a team comp or have a few champions banned out and would force players onto a slightly less optimum champion.

I can't see this doing more good than harm, lets face it, there will always be people who don't know how to play certain champions to their fullest potential in ranked.

I don't exactly like this idea YET. Some champions I may have "mained" for a couple months or longer before mastery was implemented and they were nerfed or something so I have taken them back in to ranked since after a couple normals. Still have the same lvl of understand. Maybe season 7 this would be a great idea though

This will never work. If Riot retroactively implemented past games into the mastery system, it'd be one thing, but all it takes is the Singed main who hasn't played since season 2 to come back to the game to get barred arbitrarily.
