Now that practice mode is out, can we get quests?

And by quests, I don't mean the likes of Bilgewater quests (which was nice, don't get me wrong). It's more like challenge, I guess?

I mean things like "clear the entire jungle in 1 minute 30 seconds as Nidalee," which promotes junglers experimenting with different setups, and getting a good statistics on how fast certain champions can clear jungle, as well as finding out optimal rune/mastery setup. You can also check exactly how low elo players are underperforming compared to high elo players in champions that require some decent amount of mechanics and optimizations, like Nidalee and Rek'Sai. Or maybe "do 1500 damage to the dummy (changes for every quest) in 2 seconds with 5000 gold as Lissandra," to get people to try out underplayed champions (I don't play Lissandra and I don't even know if doing that much damage is possible, or too easy; pls no flamerino).

Riot can use these quests to figure out what's wrong with the game. It could give hextech rewards, but if you don't want to give out free stuff too much you could just give out some free icons, or maybe even champion mastery points based on highest performance. Or just show leaderboards so people can compete even without any rewards.

Seems like a win-win for both players and Riot. Could you please implement this?

I kind of like what Heroes of the Storm does with quests, things like "Play X games" or "Play X games as X type champion". Quests would be a nice way to get a little bit of IP

No No No No No NO NO

It is_ incredibly_ easy to get champion-purchasing currency in this game when compared to HotS. In addition to bringing about several negative consequences, adding quests to LoL as another source of IP would impede the current champion acquisition process immensely. Besides, we have the First Win of the Day bonus (which is more or less a quest)...we don't need anything else.

IP gains in League are vastly slower to accrue than gold in HotS...

What game are you playing?

And what's so bad about removing a lot of the grind from League? I wish every champion were available at all times. It would let us actually play the champions we want to play and not just the ones we can afford.

You get 1 quest per day in Heroes of the Storm, ranging from about 200-800 gold per quest, you get gold for reaching certain XP levels, you also get gold for leveling heroes, **in addition **to the first win of the day. In League, you only have a first win of the day. Grinding gold in HotS is significantly easier than grinding IP in League. League could definitely use the quests.

Not what OP meant. Pretty sure OP meant Quests that encourage players to test out all the things that practice mode was made to test - clearing jungle, soloing dragon, warding from one point to another.

While I'm not against more generic quests, you're right that isn't what I meant. I think you've explained my position pretty well and added a few more ideas too!

Something like "kill the first dragon in 2 minutes after spawn as Warwick" maybe?

Yeah I understand what he means, but I'd still like to get my point across as well.

Maybe if they're exclusive to practice mode, but then theres issues of needing to restrict the use of many of the practice mode tools.

There'd also be a lot of wholly impractical solutions to some quests since what you can build/level when you're strictly pve is going to be very different from what works in real games. And even how you'd want to play might differ, as sure you might be able to power clear the entire jungle in X minutes, but many (most?) junglers don't actually want to clear the entire jungle early (raptors are cray), and instead it may be 1 or two camps and scuttle or a couple camps and gank or various other situational possibilities.

You're right that there may be a lot of impractical solutions. Maybe they'll build attack speed/AD Nidalee so they can clear faster, which might work for the first clear, but won't work for game.

And I get that full clear isn't the goal of every jungler, but I wasn't sure how to simulate ganking in a PvE environment. Full clear seemed like the easiest thing to measure. Maybe something like "reach level 3 with 90%of HP left by 2:20" would help for that?

The general idea is Riot giving us a preset situation, and us trying to solve it, like a puzzle. It could use much of the technology involved in making the practice tool (I imagine), since changing gold value or manipulating levels is a feature.

ap nid actually does clear faster than AD (practice mode helped me test it) :D

Go to new client. Hit play. Hit training. Hit practice mode. You now know where practice mode is.
