A 3rd update to GP already?

So for those of you who are not aware, GP got a visual upgrade about 3 years ago, and has gotten gameplay tweaks every now and then. My only reason for posting this here on the boards is i'm curious as to why we are getting another update for GP when we have people like Mord who still have pizza feet and has barely been touched, other than a change ages ago. Why GP and not someone like mord, or god forbid shen or ezreal, you know, champions that have somewhat of a viability in current play?

Lols no, he got a touch up on his kit and artwork update to some of his pictures.

GP suffered lack of counterplay to his kit and has been left underpowered because of it. He needed a rework before others for balancing reasons.

I agree that there are champs who need updates WAY more than GP.

Maybe they wanted him to better look the part of Captain? Maybe they wanted to add a little more complexity to his kit (His E's buff is negligible and barely noticable). Maybe it was on the table for a while now and they just didn't tell anyone, and someone was struck with inspiration so they ran with him first before Mordekaiser. The machinations of Riot's inner workings are an enigma to us Muggles.

During Riot's Thunderdome, someone made a Bilgewater version of Howling Abyss. Not a map skin, they did it from scratch. This inspired Riot to start a Bilgewater event, and I guess include the GP update along with it. There are many champions who need an update, true. GP was one of them. And this was how Riot prioritized. Not saying I agree or disagree, but it's the best answer I have

Because Graves can't have a cigar.
