"It's like it didn't even exist"-Riot on Negatron cloak

I really liked most of the changes to items for the pre-season, but this change baffles me. You had to buy a cloak to build into any viable MR item for late game, not to mention that it was the go to item for a first back mid lane\top lane if you were having trouble against your enemy laner, with MR optimization being so good, being able to get 20+ magic pen on your second back, basically renders your only viable source of MR useless.

Can i get some insight as to why you guys (riot) made this change? i feel like it's going to negatively impact the person who is on the other side of the snowballing AP laner.

Negatron, a less commonly used term for an antiproton or antimatter twin of the proton.

To answer your question : it was because you had to choose from the very begining of the game if you wanted negatron-derived Items or Mantle-derived Items. Now you can just buy MR if you need it and get every opportunity.

No no, it's not that they meant you never used Negatron, it's that they made it so that Negatron is no longer needed in the game by replacing its purpose will Null Magic Mantle, therefore "it's like it never existed!"

I'm not sure what they do, but I'm pretty sure they'll put (probably 2) mantle in place of every negatron build path. And adjust prices. So it comes back to pretty much the same thing accept 1 slot less efficient, right?

edit : bingo! Turns out they replaced it with 2 nullmantle and made them a bit cheaper in exchange for +- 10MR. Probably the difference between 1Nega and 2Mantle? I'm not sure if that will warrant a buff, but from what I see I don't see a problem.
