Anything AD Mid against Mages is sleeper OP, nothing new.
Because all AD champs can have scaling HP/MR rune combo and rush 
or 
( who prefer tankyness ) to outright invalidate Mages damage while still able to do damage themselves thanks to autos and how AD scales better even with little amount of AD .
I love Irelia, but honestly she feels awful to play right now. She needs a bigger buff than 10 seconds off her ult.
If you're gonna play an AD top laner mid, just play

Better cc, better duels, more mobility, and higher survivability.
