that feeling when you get your main champ in your main lane and then...
feed your ass off because you're first pick.

Gotta find that champ you love no matter the matchup. I main support and will pick Janna or Soraka into anyone. Usually I'll counter pick the enemy support/team if I'm last pick support.
Recently I played mid Akali and jungle WuKong into a blind matchup and did very well... mind you I play 90% support.

Problem is, their will always be a champ that will blatantly outright counter a champ, especially with some of the current mechanics, (fiora outright counters kled for instance) and in these counter match-ups there is no way to win outside of roaming

Then consider roaming, last season I was working on getting Leblanc mastery level up and faced slot on tough matches. I found that most games when the cannon minion shows the enemy jungler is on red buff or golems... I would take the cannon then disappear from lane only to hunt down the jungler. If I managed to kill him I would was the opposite side and look for get a 2nd kill from him. This worked 65-70% of the time the rest the jungler killed me or just got away putting me further behind.

Problem is, there is a op counter to roaming called rift herald, in the time it takes to return to your lane after you tp or wander off, the herald can already be bringing down the inner tower (or in some cases, the nexus tower)
