What was league smoking when they thought Sylas was necessary?

Now i rarely complain about champions, but this guy. What why Riot smoking when they thought this was ok? This champion literally has EVERYTHING. Gap close, escape, shielding, healing, AOE burst, CC, I mean is this not enough? and you still have champions that REALLY need to be reworked or updated. If league is trying to shift into an bursty, mobility, deathmatch game, then they need to update older characters instead of trying to pump the milk out of our tits. Greedy bastards.
