Why Can't I Get an S Rank?

So, I've been playing for a month or two and thanks to my brother and friend's tips and lots of playing, i think I'm doing pretty well. I got an S on Karthus once, but haven't been able to since. Soraka and Karthus are my two mains so far, but the best I've been able to get since that time was an A+... and that's including a poro king game with 16/10/22 and 21/6/22. I was sure for the second i would have gotten one, but no, just A+. [slayer-jinx-unamused] even with Soraka, B+ is the best i can achieve it seems. (I do admit, I'm not the best soraka, but I'd like to think I'm decent) So... Anyone have tips for getting an S rank?

The factors for ranking are a bit silly. KDA factors, CS factors, I'm sure wards factor and other goofy statistics.

For example, I've had games as Shaco where I've dominated the enemy team, got all the lanes fed and had a huge KDA, and didn't get even a S- because my CS was low when they /ff because I was too busy doing everything else I was to win the game. I kind of wish there was a MVP vote option at end of match to bump up that ranking in those situations.

ya, this i agree with. while some people do great, they won't have all stats up all the time since sometimes they are taking bigger and more important objectives or doing more important things. sometimes a game doesn't allow for all the stats up. it's not really a rank for doing great, it's more of a rank of having really good stats for that champ compared to others.

i just did 5/1/13 with MissFortune placed lots of wards, destroyed enemy wards 151 minions and got B+

you are compared to others who play those champs, it's not comparing you to others in the game. wards and cs can help a lot with rank. less deaths also if possible. do as much damage to champs and help with the towers also. there is more, but that's a few things to keep in mind.

The ranking system punishes supports because it is heavily based on KDA. But under the ranking system assists =/= kills and the system expects you to get kills. You have to get a ridiculous number of assists to get an S rank as a support if you play someone like Soraka who doesn't secure a lot of kills.

CS is also a factor. Supports get very little CS.

i get S often enough, so it's not heavily based on KDA. it's also comparing you to other supports of the same champs. with cs, 15 is often enough or so to count towards a good score on that note, but it's more than just that.

while KDA can have a big impact, you could get one or no kills and still get an S, if you have low deaths and a lot of assists. soraka can get assists really easily, and it also compares the amount of healing done and other stats. getting an S on support isn't too hard (it's about the same as other roles). getting an S in general though isn't meant to be easy.

If you play ezmode champs its much harder to get S rank because the game expects you to do better, so you have to score really high to get it.

Went 27/5/23 on Ziggs with 29.2k gold and 301 cs. Got an A+. (First blood (idk if that counts) and most damage on team)

Malzahar went 15/11/25 with 29.4k gold and 458 cs. Got the S.

Why does cs score matter so much? I realize that cs is one of the most important things when it comes to the laning phase, but having nearly twice the Mal's kills and less than half his deaths, why should he get the S for having 157 more cs?

I really don't know what to say. I have the exact same problem. In a 30 minute game as Malzahar , I racked up 253 CS and had a vision score of 34, not to mention going 15/0/13 to get an A-. Then with Garen mid I went 10/0/8 with almost no vision score and like 120 CS and picked up an S. League really needs to fix how they grade matches. [zombie-brand-mindblown]

I get S grades all the time supporting. There's a lot of things to keep in mind but overall it's how much of an impact you have on the game.

Take objectives, drags, towers, buffs.

Take a lot of damage with minimal deaths.

Ward, and clear enemy wards. Buy reds and place them.

Take all of your stats and use them. If you can heal, then heal. If you are a tank soak up damage. CS score if you aren't supporting means a lot. If you are a CC lockdown champ then CC a lot. The advanced details of the game can give you an indication about where you are strong and where you are lacking.

In most cases with me it's always warding. Aim for a vision score of at least 60. 80 is better though. Id you have a red ward just place it like when you take drag to blind the enemy. Then after you take it place another somewhere else since you probably don't need your dragon pit red once it's taken.

A vision score under 40 is just inadequate.

More than 4-6 deaths is feeding, especially now with the bounty thing going on. You get fed and that's more reason not to die. Im no expert on the game, but that's my opinion. And yes I know sometimes I die more than that, and I fed. Regardless of how well I did in other areas. Kills... assists... everything else. I still died and gave the enemy a lot of gold.

YES this is STILL an issue in 2019. I'm desperately trying to get my 4 chests I have saved up. About 75% of my games I play like shit or play decent but get too many deaths, and in the other 25% I just stomp the enemy so hard they ff (or one of my allies stomp them so hard they ff, but I have a good kda/cs) and it's too early in game so no S rank! They really need to fix this!

Another funny thing I noticed..my teams NEVER FF. Yet enemy teams always do when it's a stomp. I think the people I get just troll on purpose by not voting yes in a game where we are like 0/35 at 15 minutes with only base turrets left lmao. If I do that to an enemy they ff at 15, 5 votes for yes...idk why that is.

I actually was half way through typing that and played a few nocturne games to try to get that ever elusive s rank (i'm a plat player in other seasons and gold 2 soon to be plat and can't get s rank in normals lol??) Sure enough I was carrying hard doing great and enemy team ff's and I got like B rank or something. Then the next couple of games I just get destroyed. I have like 4 chests stacked up and just can't get one.

By the way it's pretty dumb that people are downvoting this and ignoring it. This is an actual flaw in the game. If you stomp the enemy and they ff, you don't get S rank...when you performed at S rank level. They should change the ranking system conditions so that when there is a FF it's scored differently. What if you go 30/0 and have great cs at 20 minutes and they ff?? No S rank. Stop downvoting great posts which bring up the many many flaws in this game which REALLY NEED FIXED!
