So, I have been reading the boards out of boredom waiting for dynamic queue to come back and have been reading a ton of posts about people complaining about dropping rank. Either way, whether deserved or not. Has anyone moved UP in ranking or is that even possible with the season reset?

Ternt2 votesIt's almost impossible, and it's supposed to be that way. Your rough MMR is 691, regardless how well you do, you will place no higher than Bronze 3 or 4 guaranteed. Even if you won all 10, it wouldn't inflate your MMR enough to put you into a higher division.

Yes, you will then be playing players of that TRUE skill level as opposed to last seasons higher level players who are matched with you due to reset and artificially depreciated MMR and ranking. Playing a previously diamond account right now in ranked will have you playing at roughly low plat MMR against other diamond players. Waiting a few weeks will have you stomping actual plats instead. Much easier to climb if you wait.

MMR is based around individual play. And the MMR I found is more or less a rough estimate than an exact number, as every website does different things. Lolking bloats your MMR based on where you are in a divison, where op.gg bases it around people you play with regularly. Regardless, it's a better estimate than Lolking. You waiting vs not waiting isn't going to affect you really since it really isn't that high. If you had like Gold MMR, it could help, but regardless you'll place in Bronze.

jaymc11301 votesYes actually. Although the case is an extreme outlier and very technical in nature. The player LiveYiOrDieHard moved up from bronze 2 to silver 4 after going 0-10 in placements.
His case is strange because he spent last season dodging every promo game and avoiding win streaks to prevent a division skip and keep his account ranked in bronze. It had mid-high plat level MMR.
