How to nerf Zed without Ruining him

Zed Make his q not able to hit minions a second time. For example lets say zed hits a minion with shuriken with his shadow, make it so whenever he hits the same minions with another shuriken it will ignore the damage. This isn't gonna destroy zed's core value of an assassin. He will still able to hit champions and probably monsters with multiple shurikens. If there something i agree with zed hater is that zed does have a safe wave clear. This will lessen his early game pressure and will make people think before using his shadow. I really don't know if riot over here might give him compensation buff along with this nerf. A nice compensation buff i could say will be increase damage on his e

I play a lot of zed and i have been thinking of a good nerf on zed so i can use him on rank for once. I really hope riot will consideration this postZed

Riot one year ago: How to fix but not Ruin AP Gragas: make his Q do reduced damage to minions. Oh wait. :P

I will agree with the OP in the sense that Zed has the safest laning phase for a melee assassin. His Q allows him to waveclear from a distance as well as poke out his enemy. His level 6 is such a powerspike that I think he should have to pay for it early. He can last hit better than any other champion already thanks to his passive and bonus AD from his W. I wouldn't hate on the OP for this post you guys. Giving him a compensation buff is completely fair for what he is suggesting. I'm not sure if this would ever make it into balance consideration, but he is thinking about ways to balance a difficult champion, and I commend that. He's trying to keep with the core identity of an assassin. He's keeping the damage to champions the same and even thinking about buffing his E's damage as compensation for his laning ability being dampened. I think Zed would need more things moved around than simply reducing the damage on his Q to minions to get him to a healthier spot. He's a very intricate champion with a lot of levers to work with, so balancing him can take time. I'm not sure if this is the right way to go as his shadows are a big part of his kit and utilizing them correctly should be rewarding, but I still want to thank the OP for his thoughts. I don't think he deserved as many downvotes as he was given. Zed's Q is a good place to cut some power out of Zed's laning and I do think Zed's laning is too safe as is. Thank you all. Have fun out there. Peace.

How not to ruin zed: lock him in the vault with all the skins that will never come back.
