What specifically makes a lane bully in top lane?

For champs like Darius Illaoi Garen Nasus I see they all have:

  • Heavy HP Regen
  • Only needs a little damage (builds item 3071 then tank)
  • Heavy Early Game Damage
  • Need to be very cautious around or gank to kill

There are some exceptions though Teemo Tryndamere Gnar Kled Their passives (Skarl and Big Gnar) sort of feel like health regen.

Anything else that makes a champ a lane bully? It seems like top has become the "Lane Bully" lane since more and more lane bullies were introduced and Riot will probably make more.

Range superiority pretty much makes you a bully as well. So that's how Quinn and Jayce get in there.

But they can be punished really hard when that superiority can't be employed.

Another category is just plain spam. That's where Pantheon Swain and to some extent Galio fit in.

Renekton as well.

People who keep you off your farm while hoarding all theirs. Even when you're on even footing they're a pain in the ass to deal with until you get a full item or two.

nasus is not a lane bully, neither is garen

good early damage, sustain to make trades better. champs like Renekton who make it hard to trade back with his mobility and fast combos

Harass, high early damage, and/or decent sustain.

Sometimes all you need is good harass early. It's why ranged top laners are annoying because they can bully but suddenly not fall off (if they are an adc that builds crit anyway).
