Kled feels too strong

The times I do play against him top lane, he's a massive lane bully.

  • Manaless
  • Very sticky
  • Multiple escapes (His Ultimate can be used to escape in the right conditions, his unmounted Q and his E are little dashes.)
  • Two "% of Max health skills"
  • A shield that scales with AD.
  • Skarl recovery seems too fast. (unless I can Kled to 0 him in 1~2 seconds, he can recover Skarl with a few autos and a few Q pokes.)
  • Q Rip scaling is pretty high for a 2-part move. (It's like a manaless Karma mantra'd Q that hit's 1 target on the second part.)

One of the biggest problems is that Skarl is affected from Kled's lifesteal so the whole Skarl Mechanic just gives him faster health recovery in exchange for nerfing while he's unmounted him for short while.

What's his weakness? Because I can't figure it out. Unless I can specifically counter pick him in champ select, He feels like one of those champs that you have to turret hug against until he decides to dive you or gank dive you with the jungler.

I feel like I can't win unless I'm playing another lane bully like Darius or Illaoi, or unless I'm playing someone who's ranged, but not too squishy, with hard cc and can poke, who won't run out of mana too quicky, but can also heal themself (Swain ) or unless the Kled is really bad. Even if I survive lane, he'll roam and kill teammates with his R.

Does he really have so few weaknesses or do I have to think outside the box here and pick a champ like Ahri against him and risk my team raging and throwing because they think it's a troll pick?

Kled feels too strong because he is too strong. I say this as a main.

He's not particularly badly designed, nor is there anything excess in his kit, his numbers are just simply too high in the wrong places. A lot of the things you point out as "strengths" are really negligible and shows a good amount of ignorance as to how he works - for example, you say that the damage on the second part of his Q might be too high, but that's just failing to realize that the second hit is the real ability, and the first does pitiful damage. Similar logic applies to things like his AD scaling ultimate shield, whose small duration and reliance on charge buildup end up giving it fairly low value.

He's not. Both statistically and just logically if you think about how to fight him.

I love how you compare Kled's Q to a mantra'd Karma Q as if you never actually been hit by a karma RQ before. Trust me Karma Q hits waaaay harder.

His unmounted Q works as an escape but his actual movespeed is awful.

Kled realistically can only pull off 2 Q's in a fight and the rest auto attacks, you need to assess whether or not his going to recover before you bring him down.

Nevermind the fact that his W is on a cooldown everytime you basic attack.

His ult is like that of a twisted fate or Pantheon where if he leaves vision you should try and warn your team. But unlike twisted fate you can force kled to interact with your lane.

Congratulations you found his weakness. :O

If anything Kled feels more like a more fair version of Renekton

Yeah, he definitely gains Skaarl back too fast. Maybe lowering their respective base healths would help or just a damage nerf. He's not broken, not underpowered, just strong as hell.
