I always joke around with my friends whenever i play akali and im building gunblade and i get cutlas first saying im going ad akali. But what if akali ends up actually using duskblade and turning into this hybrid mixed damage assassin? the only thing the item has that akali doesn't care for is the armor pen. (she gets bonus spellvamp from ad)
Erockandroll1 votesThe spell vamp would likely push her into more of a Fighter style of play. As the sustain gives you more dueling power. But I don't think it helps that much in securing a kill.
Critmaster Garen1 votesnot that good on akali. her damage isnt frontloaded. it comes in multiple smaller packeges of burst. she doesnt jump out of nowehre like rengar and blows you up in one go, but is more built to chase one target down.
chances are youre gonna trigger the duskblade passive prematurely on her.
Elewd1 votesbut wouldn't this help her kill off that squishy with just 1 combo instead of doing 2? she could go on to hit her next target while the duskblade procs on her first target. heck if its a squishy they probs died anyways.

Elewd1 votesonly 1 person in that "discussion" actually tested it and it looked like it was a positive result, getting spellvamp procs from it and going more hybrid fighter style.
Iceember1 votesWith gunblade that will push her to 30-40% spellvamp which imo isn't needed as she loses a slot for a %missinghealth true damage which would work for executes once every second teamfight. As most people in that sub play nearly nonstop akali I think their theory-crafting would be pretty legit. That one guy said he would test it but never came back with much of an affirmation as to whether or not it's a good item on her.
Anyways. She scales off of ap, not ad. (Unless you play bruiser akali and neglect half your kit)
Elewd1 votesi still would probably play her AP, but you can't deny the item may synergize well with her, she has to use an auto attack to proc her Q since her E nolonger is of any use in actual fights. it would just be an extra burst she coudl apply to a squishy so she could move on to the next target. honestly i can't wait for akali to get a New E skill.

I do think the new gunblade is ridiculously good tho. akali passive works with it. Try devourer akali with gunblade you'll be surprised by the results. I'm assuming gunblade heals off sated as well, and sated works with her passive. think about it

I'm just afraid duskblade is gonna come out and akali's gonna synergize with the item better than riot expected and then akali gets more nerfs until her eventual rework. Shes fun to play, but hard to succeed with at the moment.
