People want do the damages, a lot of the time. He's less effective, IMO, when you try to build more damage items.

Also it's not every game you get a Lulu to make you invincible. :)

Get fed top, then proceed to tank the enemy 1v5 for a minute. Probably best game of maokai i ever had.

To find a true tank player (and not some Garen Darius "tank" BS) who actually enjoys tanking and doesn't care for getting kills is a rarity I've noticed.

Or maybe that's because I keep taking that spot on the team when I go Sion anywhere.

Because a good portion of his strength relies on your teammates knowing what the hell they're doing.

Meanwhile I'm trying to pick up Kindred in solo-queue, ...and having allies flash out of my ulti because they're low hp with ignite on them and 'didn't want to die'..

Though they did just get a solo-queue buff..rito was basically like- 'Just f'kin' use it to save yourself, your allies are dumb and won't know what it does anyway.'

His power comes from teamwork as he can't do much by himself ... so unless you're in a premade you're rolling the dice on how effective you're gonna be.

That's why people want dmg, so that they could carry if the team's not doing well.

Maokai was just a great counter pick in a squishy meta. I see it all the time in ranked when I go up against a team that sends 3 ADC's out so I can just stack armor as a tank and wreck.
