Because champions that were balanced around stronger abilities but heavier mana costs in early could just buy those and not worry at all?

So that they could better balance the mana-regen/flat mana items during and after the MYMU.

Mana potions made it really hard to balance some champs to the point where they had to keep their costs high in case someone was stacking pots in lane. They tweaked many champs' base and mp5 at the same time to make up for it.

Because buying mana is difficult to balance and has no reason to exist. Mandatory purchases are not good for game health.

Ya mana potions are kinda op, because if you are laning against someone and having a tough time because they are spamming their skills at you. You know you will get a break because of mana, eventually. But with mana potions it allows bullies to stay in lane longer.

I may be wrong, but there is a mastery to turn pots into cookies, and I believe the cookies restore your mana. If I am wrong please tell me, because I play allot of Morganna and I eat the cookies for mana pretty frequently.... So if it doesn't heal mana... I'm an idiot lol.

(The Verdict is in... It restores 15 mana on consumption... I am an idiot lol)

it only restores like 10 mana

It does heal mana, but only on first consumption, not over time.

It restores 15 mana on cast. The rest is heal.

Many champions were designed to be gated by mana early-game, but Mana Potions helped them circumvent that restriction.

Clearly, you have never had to face a Yorick who walked into lane with Crystalline Flash, two health potions and two mana potions.
