Have Gangplank's W give him an empowered next auto attack (Tankplank / AP-plank)

Real fast like.

Gangplank is becoming a super one dimensional champion and I and a lot of other Gangplank mains miss how flexible he used to be. In the hopes of returning some breath into something other than 'Full AD, Crit, Max CDR' Gangplank (I know bruiser can work but he used to be immensely flexible) I think an empowered auto attack after his W, Remove Scurvy, would be just what he needs.

Remove Scurvy COST: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 MANA COOLDOWN: 22 / 20 / 18 / 16 / 14 Remove Scurvy ACTIVE: Gangplank consumes a large quantity of citrus fruit, removing all crowd control affecting him and healing himself. HEAL: 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 / 150 (+ 90% AP) (+ 15% missing health)

This are the current numbers for Remove Scurvy. My logic behind giving him an empowered auto attack after it is that the oranges give him an energy burst, making him 'stronger' for the next attack. I would want to slightly lower the healing to compensate for the new source of damage, but also lower the cooldown to let it be a consistent source of damage. It would also scale with either your bonus HP or your AP, whichever would deal more damage. This way it is directly benefiting Tankplank or AP plank, but not buffing his usual AD carry play style that so many people are afraid of.

Remove Scurvy COST: 60 / 70 / 80 / 90 / 100 MANA COOLDOWN: 18 / 16/ 14 / 12 / 10 Remove Scurvy ACTIVE: Gangplank consumes a large quantity of citrus fruit, removing all crowd control affecting him and healing himself. HEAL: 25 / 50 / 75 / 100 / 125 (+ 80% AP) (+ 12.5% missing health) He is also invigorated for a brief period, giving his next auto attack bonus magic damage. Invigorated damage: 30/50/70/90/110 (+50% AP) Or (10% Bonus Health) (Whichever is greater.)

Let's address this. First of all, you're trying to add more functionality to an ability that already has a lot going on with it (Heals, removes crowd control). Using it at the right time is vital if you want to survive a situation where you're about to get chain CC'd. Adding an AA modifier on top of it not only makes no sense from a design standpoint (Why are you forced to heal yourself to do more damage?), but it also forces you to choose between two options that should never be in conflict with each other on one ability (I want to heal myself/Cleanse myself of CC vs I want to harass/do more damage).

Long story short, it makes no sense to add a functionality to an ability that isn't needed, nor does it flow well with what the ability already does. It would make MUCH more sense to be put on the barrels, but even then, it isn't needed

Well right, you'd have to decide whether you want to save it to be safe in lane or use it to poke at the enemy.

Gangplank doesn't need 2 poke skills. As soon as he gets Sheen, his Q already does exactly what you're describing

Well but to play devils advocate, your Q needs to be used for poke or it needs to be used for farm.

that's why everyone takes bandit so you can do both at the same time

Then why do I need to choose between healing and poking? Those two things are on such opposite ends of the spectrum. Farming and poking are things that choosing between actually makes sense

You want to buff Tankplank... By giving Gangplank another on-hit effect to stack on his barrels? Did you think this through?

Nah it would only apply on Q. E doesn't apply any on hit magic damage

His point is that when you kill a barrel with Q or an AA the damage you did to the barrel is appplied to everything in it's explosion radius.

For example, you have a Barrel out with one HP.

Hit W. Your next AA is empowered. Q the barrel. Q applies W's empowered damage (plus sheen probably). Barrel explodes with the AA damage, the empowered W damage, Q damage, and likely your sheen.

This WOULD buff his barrels. If you empower his attacks at all, you buff his barrels.

No. In high elos he's all I see and I'm sick of it. He doesn't need buffs. He's strong. Stop crying and get good.

The only change i think Gangplank needs is a small (like .2) AD Ratio on his ult, but really he doesnt even need that. He's fine right now.

I just want 30% ap scaling on ult again... That or lich bane damage procung on barrels, either would make ap gp much better. Also, another idea is to give him another ult upgrade, so he does better in rose 40+ min games Maybe increased radius, or increased slow.
