Thank you - Meddler on Death Timers (podcast quotes)
**Host: ** "It feels like its deciding a lot of games right now, do you agree with that? or do you not agree with that?"
Meddler: "I agree its deciding a bunch of games, to a degree thats both desired and intended. We do want particularly sort of mid game fights to have some decent significance to them in terms of ability to take objectives after a fight. And the addition of homeguard has also given defenders a lot more ability to get back into fray as some degree of death timer offset (universal homeguard i should say).
Having said that, we are also seeing a few too many games where a team wins a single fight... Cleans up an entire lane of towers... and the nexus towers... and the nexus...
We're going to be looking to some death timer changes to target that 30-45 minute period in particular."
@Meddler, I'd just like to say, thank you for acknowledging that this is an issue and revealing you have plans to adjust it. I know it is a complicated issue with multiple factors other than just death timers, but for me this is the single biggest disappointment in season 6. Far too many games I find my team is winning by a landslide, pushing into their base to finish.. Then someone makes one mistake, we get aced and suddenly the game is over; The enemy cleans the entire map (3-4 towers and the nexus) in one 40-50 second push. That can be really frustrating and leave players with no sense of confidence to take risks or hope of winning games. Especially when you are solo queing and cannot always count on your team to make good decisions.
Anyways, I appreciate RIOT taking the time to address the issue head and letting us know they are working on it.
