PSA: You don't have to be a dick to criticize someones performance...

Toxicity will likely always exist in league, but lately it feels like every... single... game where we start getting behind the team starts raging, pointing fingers and being outright dicks to each other. The game unravels and we lose.

Literally, I've seen game scores only 0-1, and people are calling each other pieces of shit, uninstall, gg ff @ 20, "this bot lane", "this jungle fucking sucks", fuck you noob, and the more extreme (yet becoming more common) "kill yourself." Sometimes it even starts in champ select... like wtf? you couldn't even wait till the game starts to be a jerk? lol

The negativity even goes so far as being a dick to those who aren't even failing and are just TRYING to be nice. Yesterday I was playing top and our mid lane was struggling, so our jungle decided it was his duty to make him feel like shit about it. So I called him out and said, "hey man, i know hes struggling but you don't have to be mean. Please help him and focus on winning". And he responds, "Did I ask your fucking opinion? What are you some fucking social justice warrior? Get the fuck out of here shithead." and then repeated to belittle mid and me for the next 20 minutes until we forfeited and he was spamming "report this mid and top."

Now, I'm a difficult person to make angry, and I realize others have different levels of anger management, but this is out of control. This is not an every once in a while occurrence; This is literally every game we lose. People on league don't know how to play from behind, offer (or take) constructive criticism, control their emotions or even be decent human beings for that matter. They just get heated and cry like little children and spew the meanest things they can think of to make themselves feel better about losing.

**So before you rage, PLEASE: ** Chill. Grow a pair. Control yourself. Don't get so easily angered by the actions of others. Don't take that anger out on others. Focus on your objective, Winning. If someone needs help in lane, help them. If someone could use pointers, teach them. (nicely please) If they can't be helped or taught, focus on what YOU can do to compensate. If the game just literally can't be won, forfeit, wash your hands with it and move on. Be a god damn decent human being for once and make this game more enjoyable to play.

/end rant. [slayer-jinx-unamused]

{quoted} If someone could use pointers, teach them.

This is a pretty comprehensive tutorial, but feel free to ask me about anything that's unclear. http://www.cplusplus.com/doc/tutorial/pointers/

No but seriously, +1.

Wrong way: Hey, stop feeding Irelia.

Right way: hey, try to be careful and be wary of her diving you so she doesn't snowball

What makes the first way wrong isn't you calling them out for feeding (though that is liable to tilt and you would want to rephrase that) It's that the person isn't even saying what they did wrong or could do right. Sometimes people get frustrated after a mistake and don't consider their options clearly, making the same mistake again and again, telling them not to make the mistake will just piss them off, instead try to let them know what they could do.

Also, don't assume everyone needs advice for EVERY mistake, unless it's a huge one try to let them figure it out them-self at first. If they don't get it then give them the advice because some people can figure things out for themselves and get irritated for being immediately told how to fix the issue before they can even consider what they just did wrong.

To add to the PSA, always be friendly in pregame chat. in draft pick, try to get the team to cooperate and ask everyone how they're doing. in blind pick normals, call you role and try to be flexible if someone absolutely needs it more than you. and whatever you do, don't attack other people if they get your role. you can ask nice, but if they say no, then let them keep it and don't put up a fuss.

People keep saying that comebacks are impossible because of Riot and the meta. Honestly, I think that toxicity, as talked about in the OP, is why.

Another PSA: If someone doesn't ask for your help, either don't give it or give it and then leave it alone. Sure, maybe you really know what you're doing. Maybe you're the best player in the world. But just berating someone and constantly trying to give them "tips" can sometimes be more detrimental than just being straight up toxic. I was just playing a game where our Shaco constantly, constantly kept telling me what to do and how I was wrong for taking my mastery that I chose (thunderlords as Bruiser Fizz, which I will admit was a bad idea and I did so in game). It drove me up the wall and was the first time in a long time that I broke and raged and spat fire in return, something I am not proud of due to my steadily increasing behavior.

You shouldn't be a white knight either; Just being barely toxic/passive aggro, that it is barely noticeable

PSA #3: Do NOT talk trash to a teammate if you aren't prepared to back it up, or if the teammate out performs you.

I am and will always be a dick. I have every right to be a dick if you go 1-20

I'm so sick of getting reported for calling my teammates retarded when they fucking are.
