The W makes running hard especially when coupled with rylais. It's a permanent aoe slow. His ult is really the only lackluster part of his kit. He's not op but he's not simply "don't stand near him." That's the same as saying "Don't stand in front of Blitz". It's gonna happen and happen fairly often in a game and often won't have a choice.
