Why is Urf all random?

I really liked the original urf but I'm not too crazy about this random factor now. It's rather annoying when you have all the champs and you cant really get the ones you want. Despite my complaining I'm still gonna play the game mode but why does it have to be random champs? Some people claimed that when it wasn't random a meta was created but the thing is 6 bans (3 on each side) were available every game and therefore I thought the old Urf was way more fun. So aside from the meta excuse (which I believe to be rather invalid) what other reason is there for the random factor of this "new" urf?

Every game was basically the same champions. You just basically said

I have just have the WORST experience ever in URF, Riot put this STUPID thing called random champion and I got a worthless champion and lost. I LIKE to choose my champions, WHY do I have to get a stupid random champion?? While my enemies get GREAT champions?? And NO they are not all same. I liked the old URF, this stupid random champion thing is not fun, is stupidest ideia ever, so WHY does Riot do this kind of things? They think is fun to put you with a worthless champion and see if you like getting killed by people with far better ones? This URF random champion is STUPID. Riot please do us a favor and LET US CHOOSE, put old URF back and let this one up to, just to see what people like, DO NOT FORCE this stupid URF on us. TY

OMG! I hate this randomness. It's literally impossible to have fun. I no longer have the freedom of choice as a player. The freedom to pick my favourite champion(s). Thank you for removing that Riot... It's not like we bought skins for our favourite champions to play them in URF only to discover we're not allowed to have fun with the things we spent our precious money on. This is a terrible move by you. You should bring back URF as it was originally. Hello, I Am disappointed at RIOT ‘thinking people’. They thought that there was a problem because some champions were choosed more often, because we players liked to choose our favorite champions and since we are not stupid, we were choosing the best champions we could. And what did RIOT ‘thinking people’ did?? They failed to come up with a smart solution, so they made URF random. Not a solution at all, because we were expecting more from the guys we trust our time on, not some stupid thing that puts the blame on some random roll. I LOVED URF, I hate it now, but I HATE it because in EU we love our freedom to choose, we don’t like some stupid leader to tell us what he thinks is good for us, we like to have the possibility to choose, and RIOT took that possibility away. I tried to play a few games and in all of them I got stupid champions I don’t like. I would like to ask RIOT to question people around de world about what they like before forcing the decision on US. I HATE this RANDOM thing. Ofc I have always the possibility not to play, but that is not what I want, I want to feal RIOT cares about players, please ask people IF they like this random thing, PLEASE.

This new all random mode is bs. ive been playing it a lot and 95 percent of the time the teams are severely unbalanced and then on top of them taking away the ability to pick your champs they then take away the permabans that were there......FOR A REASON. Riot if you read this either change urf back to what it was or keep all random, put in the champs that should be permabanned and allow a ban phase before the game. one or the other.

Everything said here about how bad the random factor is in urf is totally legit. I get champs I want to play as and because of the free champion rotation I have to constantly play as a champion I hate and never intend to unlock or buy. I’ve spent money on skins of champions I like and I never get to play them on any fun temporary modes except maybe one in twenty and then half the time the other team is full of wonderful champs it’s like a big middle finger to me. Riot listen to your customers. We want to pick our champions in these fun modes you make. Stop making us have to play champions we hate. It causes more negative games then trolls. But we all know Riot doesn’t care what we think or want they have just made the game less and less enjoyable over the years and it’s getting tiring Riot. If some of your champions are overpowered in a mode then during that mode how about you make them temporarily weaker or something. If you think repetitive champions selection is a problem maybe you need to make the other champs more appealing to choose not take away choice all together. Honestly it stinks cause you make this choice for us and if we don’t like it you don’t care because you probably just would tell us “welp don’t play it if you don’t like random” These choices make me regret giving you any money and even more mad that I can’t get a refund Anything is better then someone picking for me

Just want to tell you that final I got my favorite champion, and it was a great game. But I have played a lot of senseless games with champions I don’t like at all and the only time I got a champion I like, the game was great. PLEASE RIOT put away your team of ‘thinking people’, they are tired, I assure you, and ask us, players if we like this stupid random thing in URF. TY

I think you basically understand. I think it's because the games were all the same...

I like all random URF for the variety of champions and builds.... I'm also an ARAM player, with over 100 champions (not an ARAM specific account or whatever), so I'm not too bothered...

Once the bug that is preventing custom URF games is resolved then the people who want URF with champions of their choice can be happy.... I believe I heard it's bugged from someone on the forum.... I don't have an official statement but I hope it's true....
