Will there ever be a return of Ascension?

Next to URF, Ascension was one of my favorite game modes ever, but now with the Crystal Scar leaving us does this mean that we will never be graced with Ascension again? Does this mean that while other get One for All, we can't fight for one? While others can try to be Gods with URF, we can no longer become Gods with Ascension?

Think about Azir, Xerath, Nasus, Renekton, Skarner. Think about SHURIMA!!!

As a guy who has had over 4000 games on Dominion, I can honestly say that Ascension was probably the best thing to happen for the Crystal Scar. If Riot had kept Ascension and replaced Dominion then I think there would be no problem since it was more fun than Dominion and people understood what to do in the gamemode compared to original one. It sucks to see Dominion go but I hope Riot uses as an opportunity to replace it with Ascension in the future. It would be interesting for viewers to see Pro players battle it out in Ascension than it would be in Dominion, Twisted Treeline, or Aram.

LCS Ascension would of been fun to see.

And yeah while I ever played Dominion outside of bot games early, I played Ascension almost the entire time it was out. Even if it can't become a new game mode, I wish we could play it just 1 more time.

They should totally replace it with Ascension! Even with URF I would get burned out after a few games. Ascension was the only mode I was genuinely upset to see go away.

I'll have to say, I preferred ascension much more than URF. It was just so much fun how teamfights broke out every single point of the map. And then when you have max stacks on cho and take the buff, you become Godzilla and can't hide from anyone. Good times. Good times.

yup ascension was the best, and dominion should at least come back from time to time like urf, or legends of the poro king, doom bots etc, they should cycle everyweek a special game mode

not sure he'd be able to make use of the buff too well though. Bruisers seemed to get the most value out of it because they could spam and become practically unkillable, adc's could be burst out even through ascension

I got my Perfect Ascension icon playing Xerath , stealing the first Ascension kill from the enemies and keeping it 'til last minute when a good J4 managed to get the last one just before the end.

I'm all for Ascencion return. But the sad thing is that Riot's most catered role (The ADCs) are strugling greatly in that mode so therefore it's not worthy of bringing it back.

I don't see why it'd never return. They're fridging the game mode, not deleting all the assets.

In fact Dominion could always return as a featured game mode itself.

From what I have read, Crystal Scar is being removed from the permanent game mode list, and that they may release games on this map as part of their featured game mode rotation. But, since Ascension was part of the Shurima lore event (while the others were not tied to anything or, in the case of Poro King, to an annual event), I doubt it will come back any time soon.

They just needed to update Crystal Scar, it's not Rocket Surgery. And Riot sitting on a pile of all this gold and saying "Uhh, we don't have enough money" is completely fucking ridiculous. They can't update a map that people like, yet they can keep buffing assassin champs over and over again.
