Question:
Do I make more or less money off of my hard work if someone copies my shit and gives it away for free / sells it for less? Is my revenue unaffected completely or did i LOSE some?
Thoughts?[slayer-pantheon-popcorn]

Depends. Piracy reduces your profits, but it also serves as free, effective advertising.
That's kind of beside the point, though. It takes work to make your shit, and you deserve to be paid for that hard work. Once you've already made it, you don't have to do any additional work. Why do you feel entitled to continue earning money off of that?
Well, in today's ecosystem, that's because you don't actually get paid to make your shit, you get paid when that shit sells. Which is kind of backwards, if you ask me. You should be paid to make your shit, and then once it's made, it should be free for everyone, because there's absolutely no cost to reproducing it.
Problem is, while that sounds great on paper, doing that first step -- getting paid a sufficient amount just for making the shit -- isn't really possible today. That's where snowdrift.coop comes in.
So GM should get paid 1 lump sum to make the first Buick, and the rest should be free?

you can't download a car, every one has to be made.

which is why this comparison is stupid and shows a fundamental misunderstanding of what piracy is.
Well, it's only a matter of time before you can download and print a car. - http://mashable.com/2014/09/16/first-3d-printed-car/#PDfgB4Y355q3

You still need to buy the raw resources to print the car.
You also need a set of resources before you pirate a game, including an internet connection, enough disk space, and a computer that can run the game. There are likely some markets where you're even buying the pirated copy, just not for the full price and a cut doesn't go to the company who made the game.
The difference is that with digital goods the resources are typically on hand, and the computer takes care of managing a lot of it for you.

The difference is that ideas and digital goods should be public "property" because nobody loses when they're shared, unlike physical goods.
You also need a set of resources before you pirate a game, including an internet connection, enough disk space, and a computer that can run the game.
You need to distinguish between the physical manifestation of that idea or digital good and the good itself. The physical manifestation takes resources to copy, as you point out. The abstract part does not. If you're paying for the raw materials to print the car -- or for the internet connection and disk space -- then I don't have any problem with it, because you're paying for the resources you spent.
Here's an example of something that's different if it's physical or abstract:

Imagine I put on a performance. You pay me to attend. Then you go and put on the exact same performance, and charge people to attend. I don't think there is any problem with this. The resources I spent to put on the show were time and maybe paying something for the venue. The performance itself doesn't belong to me.
Us both putting on the same show -- even if we're both doing it in the same town -- that's not stealing, it's competition.

In that case, whoever made the pirated copy spent the resources on the cd they burned, or whatever. Same deal, I have no problem with it.
oh ok, well then lets talk about intellectual property and how copyrights and patents function...just because something is digital doesnt mean you can just have it.
If an artist takes all that time and effort to put 4 thousand people together in this elaborate photo and pays every person in this wonderful piece of artwork, they should be able to sell that work to as many people as they choose and should have the right to make the decision as to whether it is public property or private...regardless of whether the canvass is physical or digital.
Hollywood may make a lot of money...but the term "starving artists" didn't come from nowhere. And under no circumstances is Robyn Hood not a criminal...youre stealing no matter how much the person has that you took it from.

oh you do?
Except the potentially millions of dollars a company (Read: The hardworking men and women that company hired and pays, thus allowing them to survive) could make by selling the product that is now totally free.
Pirating isn't just a danger to corporations (Which noone gives a shit about) its a danger to the all the (Probably hundreds or even thousands) of people whose entire lives depend on the success of that corporation. If everything was free, millions would die.
the problem when you don't play dota 2 is that you don't understand
we're talking about rubick's spellsteal which isn't a steal because the enemies still have their spells.

Oh i know rubick's kit. Whenever I play dota 2 he is like the only magic-y person other than lich I can play.
I got the joke, I just didn't like the way it presented pirating T.T
I guess you just had to Ryze to the occasion and make or find this meme.
did not take long to find at all.
It's hilarious though and will probably become THE Ryze meme after the update for him.
You mean a 6 year old meme? Right.
I've only been playing LoL for 1.5 years... I don't know all the Memes that have been memed.
plz your pun is draven me crazy it really has me at my wits end and i have a zillean more to tell but anniebody could do better than me at making puns
And now
has been rendered obsolete already.
Nope.
Ryze can't strum a tongue banjo like Tahm Kench can. Your argument is invalid.
#Bench Still Not Kenched
Except Tahm's ult has way longer range and add the passive auto attack damage. Tahm's ult still helps while fighting while Ryze's ult is entirely utility.
They just removed the passive from Tahm's R. Ryze ult is literally nothing more than a superior Tahm ult.
But ult passive is now his overall passive
And he now has no reason to put a point in his ult.
Except the half-map teleport..?
Why waste points on an ult that you only use for convenience when you could put them into your E so you get more combat effectiveness? Then again maybe now that they've reduced the time it takes to get somewhere by almost a full second it will be worth using finally.
at rank 1 you can't even ult out of base from fountain.
My main is now irrelevant. Thanks rito. ;-;
your an asshole if you main kench
And yet you have Gromp as your icon. Traitor.
(And since we're in Memes & Games)

thnk you
Loved Dexter so much, hated how they ended it with the last few seasons :/
I always tell people that the series is great if you stop the series finale 5 minutes before the actual end.
fk, i should have read that before i watched it
No offense but you probably didn't understand the ending. She was his last victim, which is why she was placed where she was. His ending happened the way it did because it was a fitting punishment. He no longer has his own inner monologue, he's no one anymore. Just silence, and Dexter hated the silence. His ending was far worse then death.
Oh we understood it. It just sucked.
None taken! Just my personal opinion, I didn't enjoy the last few seasons as much as the first 4-5.
new ult? Is ryze getting reworked or something?
Here you go. Arm yourself with knowledge :p
Is ryze getting reworked for the 10th time or something?
Ftfy
Rito will get better at balancing by the time they realize how to balance ryze.
