all of vladimirs flaws

lets make a list.

  1. lack of mobility
  2. lack of sustain especially since Q only 35% effective on minions
  3. Q only 1 out of 3 does anything
  4. E has charge up time and can be blocked by minions
  5. easy to avoid abilities because any enemy thats half way decent can see them coming and just move away for a few seconds
  6. forced to buy protobelt and use it like a additional ability and make up for lack of mobility
  7. close range sustain tanky mage that is no longer sustain or tanky just leaving a close range mage that is squishy
  8. only way to get kills is if u flash with a already charged E and empowered Q on a squishy opponent so you essentially only get kills every 5 min
  9. passive doesn't really work anymore because building tanky on him isn't very much of a option and u dont get very much health as a result of ability power
  10. only any good when at full build 40+ min into the game if you make it that far
  11. ult takes so long to go off you are likely to be dead before it actually does
  12. E actually slows him if charged to long adding to his lack of mobility
  13. empowered Q only lasts 2.5 seconds so enemies just need to back up for those 2.5 seconds.
  14. core items like rylais got nerfed, will of the ancients got removed, and spell vamp was also removed just thought i would add all those in here while im at it.

overall thoughts on vladimir: WHAT THE FUCK!!!!! is riot actually serious with this shit?

but i know just complaining about the issues isnt going to solve anything so i guess ill give some advice on what i believe could be improved.

  1. revert back to old Q, every other mage in the game has a normal Q why not vlad?
  2. make Q heal more off minions maybe even champs
  3. get rid of slow effect on E
  4. make it possible to detonate ultimate early if needed
  5. increase movement speed buff when in pool form slitely to help deal with lack of mobilty
  6. i also feel like passive needs some form of change but not really sure in what ways

well thats all i could come up with. dont know if riot will ever actually read this but at least i got my opinion out there and feel free to add to or criticize my comments always looking for additional feed back be it positive or negative to help better understand other peoples views on the matter. till then thanks for reading :)

I don't know man...

I play Vladimir (low elo though) and quite regularly curb-stomp all my opponents.

Lack of mobility is easily dealt with by taking Ghost (I don't feel like the nerfs did much) + Stormraider's Surge.

And honestly, they can do whatever they want with the Qs, I don't even bother timing my Empowered Qs in team fights since I know come late game I have a 2 sec cool down spammable Tides of Blood (100% AP scaling) and a monster Ultimate blast. Yes it would be nice if Q had higher numbers but its point and click and it already has better ratios than the first part of a Viktor laser.

He's a come back King. So long as your team isn't completely dead by the late game, he can consistently 1 vs 2/ 1 vs 3 the enemy team. Ghost/Flash + Ult + E and Q spam and pool... they get destroyed at 5 or 6 items.

I mean... he's got infinite heals, AOE damage (that's WAY easier to consistently hit than Viktor lasers, Zed's Shurikens, or Lux binds for way better damage), he amplifies his team's damage, and he's super safe in land and team fights with all the tools he has, allowing for unbelievably aggressive positioning.

So long as you fit 1 Spirit Visage into the build somewhere and have a sense of his damage output and damage tank limits... his 1 vs 2/1 vs 3 is very strong.

His laning is also super safe. If you have decent side-stepping (don't have to dodge EVERYTHING but enough of it), you basically can't be forced out of lane because you'll heal back just enough and you have no mana limits.

I also feel like his Qs are actually very strong. Its main purpose in lane is to keep you alive anyways... Vlad's power is mostly locked in his Tides of Blood. Once you have 4 or 5 levels of Tides of Blood and 40% CDR, that's when he basically becomes a God.

3 its every other that's powerful unless you missed a CR proc, which is relatively rare if you're thinking at all.

6 isn't a factor.

8 doesn't consider the fact that Ghost is up basically every fight, and is much more potent than Flash in said fights. Also, flanking+Stormraider's.

9 makes him exactly like original Vlad. You build full AP. Pure and simple.

10 is untrue; he needs 3 items, and likely void. That's somewhere around 25 minutes if you aren't significantly behind.

11 You ult before you're even taking damage the majority of the time. Considering you're about to EQ->W, you're already almost there. You either Zhonya's if you need the HP, or you EQ and save zhonya's for an emergency CC dodge. Its almost impossible NOT to get the heal unless you misplayed pretty badly.

12 isn't a factor because its fully charged after 1 second out of holding. Any longer is pretty much pointless in the large majority of cases.

13 only comment about this is that the MS should be the entire duration of Q's CD. This gives a possible benefit to lacking CDR, unlike literally any time ever. Also let's him be viable without Rylai's.

14 Will of Ancients held Vlad back. He has similar healing much earlier in the game, and scales past it as well now. Rylai's getting nerfed isn't a flaw of Vlad's. His reliance on the slow is.

  1. No. This would literally make Vlad worse. Nothing more, nothing less. The burst potential of CR Q+E is what allows him to even function right now.

  2. No. Vlad being focused on sustain is what makes him problematic at any given point. If sustain is a tool, rather than a crutch, it allows him to be much healthier when he's viable.

  3. Would only affect bad Vlads in the vast majority of cases.

  4. I would literally never use this.

  5. Could help; would likely lead to him being an issue if he's ever decent again. I'd rather have the CD reduced by 2 seconds again.

  6. Lower AP has hit Vlad the hardest out of any mage. A slight buff could be in order.

Hit plat 5 after 35 games last season. Skipped tiers every promo. Would have kept skipping if I didn't run out of time. Gunna climb to diamond after Lethality gets hit hard enough.

So no, this doesn't just apply to 'low elo'. It applies to players who know exactly what Vlad does, just not exactly how much he can do with it because most people don't think his ratios are as strong as they are.

vladimirs other flaws: hes either completely broken or completely crap
