when will we get 4K support?

i just wanted to ask the question because i haven't found a definitive answer yet. can anyone or better yet can a riot employee give me an estimated time range as to when 4k support will be available for league, because as it is now it is virtually unplayable in 4k primarily do to the extrememly small mouse curser, health bars, and min map icons. personally i find it strange that it doesn't already considering when i bought my 4k monitor a few days ago and three fourths of the monitors at the store were 4k resolution, also seeing as league is probably the most played PC game in the world it really makes no sense to me why this isnt a priority for riot.

Riot cares more about extracting money out of potato computer owners than supporting your computer.

Still no proper support for 21:9, and that has been around for a while yet.

The fact, is, a tiny fraction (probably something like one in 10000, if not less) league players have a 4k screen, and 4k in general is an excess for people with way too much spare money. I do believe i heard something from a rioter fairly recently about 4k support, though.

Unrelated: Does anyone else find that screen resolutions that large are more of a hindrance, since you have to look further away from what you're doing to glance at the map?

I'm starting to notice a weak correlation between my performance improving and dropping the game in windowed 1920x1080 (while fullscreen would be 3440x1440)

You clearly have not understood what a resolution actually means, and how league just has terrible UI scaling. The main factor for your perception of size is the screen size and the distance between you and the screen, resolution on the other hand is responsible for the maximum amount of detail which can be perceived looking at the screen at close distances. A good usier interface would keep nearly the same size on a screen of the same size no matter what the resolution is, or at least enable the user to adapt it's size to it. So 1080p and 4k should both have the same interface size. League is just utter shit when it comes to that, the minimap does not scale at all and become incredibly small at higher resolutions, as for the 3D parts of the game, they stay the same "size". So blame riot, not resolutions, thx.

You completely misunderstand, and I bloody well know what resolution is.

I'm on a 38" 3440x1440 screen. The scaling is just fine - the screen itself almost completely fills my field of vision.

Therefore: if I run the game at 1920x1080, it's running in a smaller window at the very center of my screen. Therefore, I don't have to glance as far away from the actual viewport to look at the map or a cooldown timer.

That's because you've disabled GPU/monitor scaling in the settings of your display drivers or monitor. Enable it and they'll take up equally as large sizes, albeit one is slightly more blurry than the other.

Resolution alone have very little to do with being a hindrance or not in the way you describe. A player playing at 4K on a 27'' 4K monitor will be performing almost identical as if he was playing at 1080p on a 27'' 1080p monitor, which the user above you tried to explain.

The way that resolution might become a hindrance at most is if you're playing in borderless window mode where Windows controls the mouse, and you have mouse precision (aka mouse acceleration) disabled. This forces you to physically move the mouse further to move it from one corner to the other at 4K than if you were playing at 1080p. Fullscreen mode doesn't, or shouldn't at least, have this issue as the game controls the mouse and not Windows.

Did you just necrobump an 8 month old thread?

the reason a lot of people dont even bother for 4k is their main game is this so they wont run 4k because they refuse to add support. they are just showing again how stupid they are

I have a 4K screen, and since i got it i have stopped playing league and moved to HOTS. The only reason i have done this is because of how lazy/non existent the 4k support is in league.

Even worse when your monitor is physically 13" with at least a 2K resolution.

Playing fullscreen and lowering quality of the graphics feels barbaric for a "modern" game like this.
