Crazy (and likely dumb) Idea for Zac's Slingshot
Disclaimer: This might be one of the dumbest, if not the dumbest League-related idea I ever had, but I feel like sharing it to have a second opinion. Feel free to downvote if you disagree and express your reasoning why in the comments.
So a couple weeks ago I made a post addressing a problem with Zac's slingshot, his E ability (link provided)
If you don't feel like reading, here is the summary:
- With a locked camera, Zac's slingshot range goes beyond the camera's range, decreasing the move's effectiveness
- All champions with a long range in their abilities that goes beyond the camera's range are either ranged champions or have a long distance- global ult, which makes sense to use an unlocked camera with them to play them effectively. Now with Zac, all of his attacks and abilities put him on a melee range within the enemy, which should make the use of an unlocked camera on him unnecessary. My point is: unless a champion is ranged or has a global ult or similar, it should be fully functional with a locked camera,
- The solution: to make Zac's slingshot to zoom out slowly as he is preparing his slingshot (like if the camera itself was set up to be launched by a silngshot).
Before continuing, I want to address something. Yes, I know some of you will say "just learn to play with an unlocked camera, u noob", but don't forget that not everyone likes, or is able, to play League that way. If a locked camera is an option, people should be allowed to play with the camera option they want. However, that does not mean that all champions should be effective with a locked camera, as I said in my summary. That's why I said that unless a champion is ranged or has a global ult or similar, it should be fully functional with a locked camera.
Anyways, after some consideration, I agree that my solution was unpractical, since when Zac's E is maxed and with some cooldown reduction, the repetitive zoom out in his E would disrupt his gameplay significantly, especially when used at short range. So, I came up with another solution.
NOW, FOR THE MOMENT YOU'VE BEEN WAITING FOR. POSSIBLY THE DUMBEST LEAGUE-RELATED IDEA EVER:
MAKE THE CAMERA'S MAX RANGE FOR ZAC EXCLUSIVELY SCALE WITH HIS E SO IT FITS THE CAMERA'S RANGE
To balance it, the camera's range would be tied to Zac's E, meaning that the camera would have a lower-than-normal range early game, and the range of the camera would grow alongside the slingshot's range. When his E is maxed fully, the camera's range would be large enough to fit the slingshot's max range (1800 units from the center of the screen).
Well, that was my idea. Once again, feel free to up or down-vote (I expect most of the latter) and comment.
