Finally, the carries will not be only the ones that take away all the glory, but also the ones that shielded them, healed them, tanked damage for them, and applied crowd control for them.

Just fyi, they couldn't put together the algorithm to add the damage shielded from allies(the shields you put on allies) in time(something about how it became more complicated than they anticipated), so for now its just for damage shielded on yourself. They will be adding that stat later on, but not midseason. It's sad, but at least we know it will be coming along eventually.
At least all supports that shield others have cc that can be measured.
