You wanna know how to never miss your hook? Can't miss if you never throw it! http://imgur.com/a/CWf3h

But if you want to learn how to land thresh's q play blitz to get used to hitting that q.

The only tip I can give you is practice. It is the same as any ability on any champion. There might be cool things you can do with abilities that you didn't know about like flash out of the lantern range over a wall after someone grabs it to extend the range, but with skill shots it is just a matter of getting a feel for it after many games of practice.

Practice with nidalee in bots or customs. she has a long range skill shot (with a fairly short cd); it's also narrow (so it'll teach you precision...like threadin the needle between minions....ofc, thresh's hook is wider, but you get the idea)...if you can get good with that, makes hitting with thresh (or any normal length skill shot) easy

Usually opponents walk in the opposite direction which they are going to to dodge the hook. It's beneficial to aim partly to that direction but not exactly where they will stand. On blue side, the enemy on red side will dodge right. On red side, the enemy on blue side will dodge left.

Ezreal Kassadin Leblanc : share pretty obvious evasion patterns so Qs are pure predictions

You can sometimes watch your opponent to see how they CS, if they sway back and forth you could probably land a Q near the enemy minions..

and E'ing them makes hooks easier

Focus less on clutch MLG ones and more on close ranged ones. Flay them back to slow them and bring them closer, then Q them after.

Hello! I'm a little late too the party but I find a lot of the hooks I land are based on positioning. If the enemy bot lane is decent then they know to pressure you if you miss your hook, so be careful when engaging because if you over extend try to land your q they can punish you hard for it. One simple trick I find if you can safely approach (punishment for overextending or burning abilities) is push towards the enemy caster minions and flay a champion towards you to proc after shock to become really tanky, the flay should also pull/push enemy minions away from the champion leaving them an easy target to hook.
