Did Riot ever announce why they got rid of team builder?

Pretty late post but the only thing I can find is that they took out TB because the new ranked queue lets you pick two roles. Well what about the people who dont play ranked? Or two roles?

All I play is support. If you look at my match history its nothing but Brand support on blind pick. The last few days its been Sona. Before that it was nothing but Leona. And before that it was nothing but Soraka.

Those are the only champions I ever play. "Brand isnt a support" Nope. I always go full AP support. I like it because if the adc is terrible then I can try to get kills and help the game shift to our side. Its harder to do that on a leona with targons and a crucible.

I noticed full ap support doesnt work as much in ranked queue as it does in blind pick. It also warrants more verbal abuse because im not following the meta so if we lose the game its my fault according to everyone. I dont like ranked.

"If you like brand so much why not go mid and learn a role other than support" I like being brand support because its a two man lane. When I miss my skillshots, I still have the adc hitting their auto attacks and skill shots. If we both hit them we do double the damage and kill the enemy faster. Its like having a 24/7 gank. I hate solo lanes they're too slow since Im not good at them. Im a strong advocate of the buddy system.

Well I just got a 10 minute penalty because I dodged for the 2nd time today / the 5th time this week since the only thing that was left was jungle.

Why should I be punished for that? Riot had the perfect idea to let people build a team with the exact role and champion they wanted. There was nothing wrong with it. 99.999999% of the time, people didnt dodge team builder. Because they didnt have to fight for the role they wanted to play nor were t hey forced to play a role they arent even interested in.

Im ranting because I got penalized because riot doesnt seem like they're ever going to add something like TB again, and instead only punish people for only wanting to play a specific role or champion. That'd be like punishing people for not doing optional side mission in any other video game. Its ridiculous. Ranked isnt a requirement but apparently its a requirement if you have a specific role in mind.
