After just playing norms for a long time i finally got interested at the idea of climbing rank to rank, so i did. At first i was doing well, I climbed to Bronze 1 pretty easily,But then i got in a game with somebody with the phrase TROLLING in their username (not allowed to namshame but thats what ill call him) at first i thought it was a joke so i locked in my noob champ that no one in bronze knows how to play against, (MasterYi ) and go to my red buff , TROLLING LOL took smite and Xin to the midlane, little but suspicous but whatever, i get a leash from my botlane while he sits in the bush across from red buff to "watch for an invade" and he flashes through the wall and smites my red, then says "oops srry ff 15" and goes afk Ok not that bad, atleast we remade because he left, here comes part 2 Were doing really good, REALLY GOOD, i picked yi, got first blood on a sivir who burned flash and heal in a good invade, got drake, invaded again, took control of jgl, got a double kill at botlane etc etc everything is going well, then i give a gank to my midlane, i used my Q on the enemy Leblanc , but one of his cannon minions got caught in my Q bounce and i got the last hit on it AND i missed the kill on leblanc. Oh Shit "Lmfao kys wintrader" he says He proceeds to run it down mid twice then follow me around in the jungle, last hitting whenever he can, i stay as positive as i can to try to "change" him, I hit a blast cone to get to my krugs and knock him away, but he walks up and flashes through the wall to get the big krug, move forward 10mins later enemy midlane has a 700g bounty, im melting his healthbar, this guy flashes in and ults, stealing my 1k. "Nice!" i said, trying to be positive again, and he responds with "just didnt want you to get the kill", and "lmfao think im gonna do anything with it" then i press tab and he has an empty build, I've tried flaming trolls back, but that tilts them more and ruins team morale, I've tried ignoring them, but that makes them continue trolling until they get the attention their desperate for, and now, ive tried being nice to them, "Ily bro", " This is winnable fam","You can take my farm u scale harder" all things i said to this fucker and yet he decides to flame me in all chat and convince enemy team to report me. Never encountered this problem in norms,seriously idk how to fix it but i bet there are ways.

Yea, ranked is really bad. There is a lot of pressure, because a loss can really set you back 1-2hrs. A lot of these trolls/flamers/inters usually get on insane losing streaks and just snap. They int and int and int, most of the time untraceable for the reporting system. Just keep your head up. Understand those who ruin your games are lower in rank. As you climb, you will see fewer and fewer of them. By the time you get to silver 1, you generally wont get people that bad, but you'll get people who are being outmatched in their lane.

Its a trade off, but the toxicity gets better.

If you don't like what you've experienced in solo/duo. Please do not try flex. It's 3x as bad.

I feel this in my soul. I got all amped up rolling through my promo to silver(went 3-0),first time out of bronze was a sweet moment. Roll into them silver IV games and lord did I underestimate the rumor that silver was the most toxic thing since Flint's water. I'm now on a four game losing streak that has consistently been my fault per the team. Drop a ward in our tri-bush and the un-pinged mid lane assassin obliterates my squishy bum, that's over extending. Get dived by the entire enemy team under turret, that's feeding. Walk into the river to answer the assist me ping from the jungler, that's choosing to fight while he runs away and thus also feeding. It's hard to stay positive and off the tilt train. Hell I'd welcome a demotion if it meant a drop in this toxicity.

That is just the beginning

You're in for a ride, around Gold elo it gets better but once you reach Plat it dives into the fucking abyss and comes back up around Diamond 2

Good luck I guess, at least you are in NA that makes it a little better

This sounds like something people say every season, but I agree that this season's ranked experience (for me) has been the worst in memory. This season seems to have even worse matchmaking in my range (high silver/low gold) this season than I can remember from previous seasons. My series of games last night are a perfect example. Of the 5 games, only 1 was even semi-close in outcome. Win or lose, the team that won, won by a huge margin. Also, I queue fill almost every time and so I mostly get support, which I'm ok with. However, it's even more difficult for a support player to be able to swing games where your team goes 0-6, 2-12, 2-6, and 5-9.

I should say. you should at least be playing normals until you win against silver 3 in that gamemode without being actually carried before you play ranked.
