Stop nerfing Champions-RIOT

Phenyxs··1 votes·574 views

This is second most frustrating fact of this game is the complete unbalance of the champions power/damage/ability. Riot creates a champion and next patch nerf, nerf and nerf some more. Mean while and I have been playing this game long enough to know and see that there are champs that are so op that don't get touched. Examples are Lux, Miss Fortune even though they did modify some abilities to her she is still a single handed game changer. and there are a couple but I think the point is taken. You create a champion and test it and then release it for sale for half our pay checks. The problem does not lay in that the champion is op and a need to nerf. Bunch of crap. The problem is Riot nerfed all the other champs it looks as if this champ is op. What I see and I am a long time gamer and seen a lot and worked with other big name gaming companies is balance the champions to original state and balance the items they buy or use. The key is in the items not the nerfing of the champions. Until Riot understands this the unbalance of game play will continue. . Closing note on this is a player buys or earns a champion however and buys a skin or not but wants to play that champion which by due cause is only fair. And I can relate to this. I buy my champions and I buy my skins and most champions have all or most skins available. To go into a draft and not get to use that champion sucks. Yes others are to be used and I personally own almost all but I have my favorites. And like anyone around long enough knows each champion to get the full ability out of that champ needs its ruins and masters set right or to ur gaming style. What ever works. Point being is the unbalance of champions also trickles into game play. So that is my 2 cents and if you take a deep look at it in a broad picture and get your head out of the box everyone can clearly see this. If not then lmao gl. This may maybe lead to the constant request of nerfing champions I always see when I log on here. And picking on zed? lol. Hope he woops your candy ass for crying. As John Cena says-If you Want Some Come Get Some.

17 times in a row, no less.

17 times in a row what? This is second time you have posted on a comment of mine and I have no clue what you are saying. So would you explain or I assume you are trolling at this point.

At one point, Irelia was nerfed for over a dozen consecutive patches. Morello is very vocal in his dislike of her, and he tends to over-nerf her. That's why #betternerfIrelia is a joke.

The thing is that she needed all of those nerfs.

She's either top tier and the best Top laner in the game or she's just a mediocre pick because of her broken kit. I think Riot will eventually rework her since the only reason her kit is remotely viable is because of the low counterplay available to her kit and how overloaded it is with everything a Bruiser could want, though she was never "over-nerfed" as even with all of the nerfs she's received she still hasn't quite hit pre-buff Urgot-tier.

She is op after lvl 6 to me if built right and someone knows how to play her. But squishy to start unless u feed her. But better ask the pros flying around in here who know it all instead of sharing positive comments or feed back which was my intent on posting some ideas of mine or observations rather it is lets rip him a new ass.

OH, I wanted to mention when You nerf a champion and Azir is one that quickly comes to mind and more then once in last couple patches but yet Riot comes out with a really nice skin for a deeply cost of course. I find the balance on both extremely tilted. And I like Azir and he is 1 of few I don't own and his new skin is beast looking but at this time until they stop nerfing him he is a waste of my money. And Riot loves money. Everything has a price, Right..

I feel like you haven't actually done any real work in the game development industry. Or even have a passing understanding of it.

And your comment is what to my posting is what?

Sachabot1 votes

Purely a snide comment made to illustrate the point that according to your post, you don't actually know the first thing about game balance if you think balance is so easy.

I do have a understanding of in-game balancing. And No it is not easy and frustrating to understand and let alone the creators of this game have to deal with. I may and I say may have been sharp around edges in writing this but to me and as long as I have been playing this game and I am also putting into account my past gaming experience my thoughts and my awareness of this game and the nature in it. I never once said in this posting I was right you were wrong but it is a observation of mine. take it as you will But again this is something I see and have been watching and reading what is in the updates. I am sure to Riot there is a reason behind doors for there doings. I feel from the other side it is different then how it looks. And again it is my vision. didn't say I was speaking for the community or any other player.

Well, I can give you two points.

I feel from the other side it is different then how it looks. And again it is my vision. didn't say I was speaking for the community or any other player.

Totally correct. You did not assume some invisible majority, and speak only for yourself. This is surprisingly sensible on these forums.

I never once said in this posting I was right you were wrong but it is a observation of mine.

Technically right, as you never said I personally was wrong, and that you were right. You did, however, just make a post telling Riot that they're wrong and you're right. Don't use absolutes unless you mean for it to be absolute.

Oh, and your proposal has been suggested before, years ago. It's much easier on the balance team have have items applicable for a wide variety of settings and to then balance the champions individually then it is to have a bunch of niche items and try to balance every possible combination on every champion. That inefficiency prompted the idea that you don't actually understand balance or game development, as no one in their right mind would suggest putting in that kind of work.

WOW. A full a respectable reply. Thank You. And Yes I did and Will call Riot out If I See fit right or wrong that falls between us then. right? Should I post it directly on here? No. I should take it up with them on the side So I do apologize for that part. Now game balance, I do understand it. I do see that rewriting history isn't possible and just move on. My point and maybe should of been made more clear is the unbalance in whole. As far as the idea been suggested years ago? I didn't see a posting on it or may not of even been playing this game at that point in time. Now that you have informed me of it thank you but I am going to push that button to see if it cant be looked at again " Years Later ". Don't take me for a moron or a kid with time on my hands and nothing better to do. I simply posted a comment looking for a feed back in a positive manner or just pass it up. A lot of players have been here longer then me so they know more and seen more and I do respect that. As far as gaming in general. Do not judge me or my experience in what I do know or don't know. I never judged you. My gaming experience maybe different from most of yours form where I am and what I do in the gaming world but that does not prevent me from playing this game or liking it. A forum is a drop box of ideas and where it goes and how it is addressed I would assume it is with Riot. So I dropped in a idea.

Actually, this forum is for communicating with Riot, you're using it right. But it's also for us players, so we like to stick our noses in and all air our opinions on a subject. So don't be surprised when we come in and disagree, but no one's telling you not to push that particular button. I love honest discussions.

Don't take me for a moron or a kid with time on my hands and nothing better to do

I apologize if you thought I was calling you stupid. I simply have a different viewpoint on game development than most, and I get tired of people telling Riot that they can do the job better when they have no clue. So that wasn't really aimed at you but at the boards as a whole. Thus, an apology.

Going back to your idea, it's not necessarily so terrible balance-wise as it is horrifically time-consuming any time you want to patch. Look to Dark Souls, it's what they do for balance. However, they balance at a much less frequent rate, once every few months. And they are not a small team by any terms. Riot probably could pull it off now (versus several years ago), but we'd be lucky to see a patch every other month. For Riot's game philosophy and model, that's not good, as it limits the number of times they can drop new skins/champions, and since that's what earns them money.... Well, you gotta pay the bills.
