Done trying to get J4 to work

I have researched this champ and tried the setup and build and he is garbage. He is so weak defense I can put 2 armor builds on him and he still looses health. just from minion waves. His mana can't be controlled. Now this really got me is I picked him last. night top lane and last pick other team was vayne. Who last 3 times I played him she is who they counter with. This Wayne start of game 3 shots me and dead. We had no Jg who went afk. I talked to the team saying having. issues. She had no Mr and no armor. I went under turret to farm and well she had the range to still get me and they. had a Jg who played. At the end of the game a toxic jinx say she reported me fir feeding vayne and complain. about her. I stated I was not trying to feed her I couldn't stop her. She went everywhere feeding getting fed. So if playing J4 is going to get me report then he is not worth playing as well as he is so weak he isn't fun. Sucks. I don't complain about champs on here I just refuse to use them after nerfed like Viktor. Won't touch him now either. But I really wanted J4 to work and he isn't a team a team champ. Needs another nerf.

I am top lane. I have so many good Jg champs. I was looking for a more viable tank champ top.

You come on to pick this apart or give a solution? I picked first and vayne was there last pick who they went 3 adc. He is a tank/fighter. Look it up. And 2 full armor builds fir a small minion pile should not take half my health. And glad you think it's funny.

you shouldn't generally be tanking minions since they do hurt. if you are first pick, i would recommend picking something safer since you can get counter picked fairly easily. just because riot sets something as secondary, doesn't actually make it true also. he can be build as a tank, but he won't be as useful as picking another champ that just tanks better.

vs vayne if you aren't going to get help, i would say build full damage and play extra safe for a while until you can just jump and full combo her from 100 to 0, unless you can poke her down first with Q. vayne also can't 3 hit you early unless you are low which is why he thought it was funny.

As in three auto attacks? At the beginning of the game? From full health to zero? My friend this is completely impossible no matter what runes she has. Also armor won't counter vayne's true damage. Also vayne counters j4 hard.

I'm not going anywhere, get your story straight. Being bad at a champion is fine, don't say he's bad because vayne three shot you at the beginning of the game.

People would probably be more positive towards you in their responses if you didn't stretch the truth so far/blatantly lie. To the people have tried to help, you just call some of them noobs unless they agree with you as if you're so great. So why should anyone respect you if you're going to act like a jerk for no reason?

if you play only one game thinking it's going o go great, then you won't be happy with almost any new champs. j4 isn't that bad, he can actually be strong but you might have just played him a bit off. vayne generally is hard to deal with so that one game isn't the best example of what you can do. vs vayne, you would generally need some ganks to actually win lane, and you had an afk jungle so it didn't happen.

Not my first time running j4.I own him for awhile. I had similar issues with him and put him on the burner to work on other champs. Now was trying to re address j4 and he is one that's more frustrating then most. As far as ganks and Afk. If I don't jg I don't see ganks. I can ping,type help. Not happening. And was told why several times. Either they don't like my counter or I am not in there party and they need to attend to there friends. Alf that is 90% of the games I play. So it is what it is. J4 needs help or something. I have managed with beat up champs before but I cannot with him.

j4 is fine, he really is. he might just not be your type of champ, or it could just be hard match ups for j4 that aren't for the other champs you play. vayne was the one example you used, but generally, she will win lane vs melee champs, unless she plays it wrong or is ganked.

Maybe he is. Maybe my setup in masters are wrong for him. Idk. I cannot control there counters when I pick first. I see the bans and can only assume picking then is a team pick and not a throw.

As for my type if champ maybe he isn't. I run harder champs and learn them and don't find him difficult at all. Maybe I get over aggressive with him.

ok, looking at op.gg, i can see the game, but you had won. not sure if you got confused or whatever on this. if you meant you lost lane, you can't always win lane, it's about the game overall and how you handle it.

Last night game was won with me using him but I did loose lane, I wasn't a factor and I didn't help win the game. I was a target because I was the fastest to go down and at one point asked to just stay top and not help in fights by this jinx player. Either way, I have tried and reviewed him and sat reading and thinking how to get him going and I cannot. So I rest it.

Jarvan 4 after the major nerfs is still not as great as other champs. Obviously, Riot has not done a great job balancing this game. J4, though not trash, is still overshadowed by much better picks.

You are pretty much gimping yourself for picking him.

Is he awful, no. He is still strong, but no where near the beast he was in S5 Spring Split.

He is technically a fighter, but even as a fighter, still not the greatest, obviously outdone hard by other not as tanky foes and tankier foes alike.

And though technically a fighter, the best way to build him is tank. And even then, he fails to do that well.

I still like him. He is quite an interesting champ. But Jarvan 4 won't be returning to the spotlight any time soon.

I do like him. I didn't think he was such a headache. Maybe some day riot show some love again his way. Until then, rip

I picked him back up when he got his minor buffs.

Still not useful XD.

He is in a better spot, and with certain very specialized comps he can be very relevant. But he needs a bit more love. Do i want another nigh unkillable Jarvan 4? No... but this Meta/Season is so broken that it's better to have him be nigh unkillable again.

I agree I don't want a another op champ either like tryndamere was back when. But this now is no good. As for the meta this season I not really sure where that stands anymore. I play champs I like and give me a shot at helping and are fun. I got Diana and she is fun and strong.

I feel like the meta is "burst meta" and "mash right click meta".

Riot's attempts to give all champs a reason to be selected is breaking the game. And due to this makes certain champs "must pick, must ban" more than ever before.

Which seems to destroy champion loyalty. In other words, pick your favorite champ and get gimped. Or pick the most OP thing if up.

Is it awful? No. But it is no longer as fun.

How so?

Strategic depth was close to dying, but seems to made a slight comeback. No longer about outplaying macro in most solo games, rarely do you outplay in solo nnow. Now you mostly get lucky early and win one or two team fights and done.

I use to manage vision way better. Use to split more, use to play around objectives more. Now i feel like i do that WAY less and hope for the best in a team fight and get lucky (even when im ahead, i can lose hard if an ally gets caught out, which is common on both sides in low elo).

J4 is a good champ made for following up with his allies or initiating. You are playing it wrong, give me the controller.

  1. Not only is your English hilarious, I don't understand why you put full stops (the dot: '.' ) randomly in the middle of your sentences.

  2. If you don't like a champion, simply don't play him. I don't like Yasuo because I suck at controlling my own dashes and would keep getting caught in the wrong position. I suck with that champ. I don't play vayne because I'm bad at kiting with her. I play champions that I'm good at (usually those that require low mechanical skill). Jarvan was nerfed not because the average Joe was too strong with him, but because competitive players in tournaments were too good with him. He was always picked or banned and offers a lot of utility to your team. Certain champs are just so hard to play that they are either weak for most people and okay/good in tournaments or they're okay for most people but completely dominate the tournaments. Since there are so many champions in this game, I don't think that is a big problem.

My tips: Try out a bunch of champions and stick to one that you actually feel confident with. Good top laner champions for starters atm are: Garen, Wukong, Malphite, Darius, Nautilus, Pantheon, Tryndamere, Teemo, and a few more. All of these are currently pretty good and are relatively easy to do well with.

English. Funny. I am typing this from a non smart phone so if my English isn't correct it is because I didn't double check the spelling. Second I am not a new player so don't or want your noob replies. I am talking about j4 in general and how I see his state in the game. I haven't posted about anyother champs in regards to a champ like j4. I have ask others on ideas only. So, anything else. English?

Sorry if I offended you. Your spelling is fine (except a few typos which are understandable) but your phrasing was often grammatically incorrect.

The way you wrote your post made me believe that you are a new player since you showed quite some ignorance in it. I went to check your account details and considering that you're Bronze V, below 500 wins in total and no ranked games before season 5 suggests that I'm right. Your game understanding is probably equal of a new player (in my eyes, as a 5 year long player you still are) unless you're just trolling in ranked and are in bronze V intentionally.

Please, keep my tips into consideration, ignore the rest of the post because it's not constructive. I have trained a bunch of my friends who are/were in a similar position and helped some of them get to Gold.

No not offended. It is league and mostly toxic attitude so you get use to it. Yes I am bronze and leaving it there sense I don't play rank. Below 500 wins, can't win them all. Takes team work and I refuse to carry even if I can. I have lost games due to lack of team efforts even though the game was in hand. So you and everyone can judge me for what you read does not bother me nor do I care. I know I am a good player. But I don't play this game to impress anyone. I play because I like the game. I have been playing long enough to understand certain things and my vision is clear. So be it as it is or how you see it just fine by me.
