Efficient ways to kill.

I'm looking for an efficient hard removal of YI.

I'm operating under the assumption that any counterplay you use against YI will be exploited by the enemy team to the utmost degree.

E.G.

If you attempt to focus YI, the enemy team will use this disproportionate distribution of your team against you and take objectives. Knowing that you'll build armor against YI, the enemy team will decide to be skewed towards AP in order to mitigate your resistances. Understanding that YI will be a 'CC mop,' they decide he should take Cleanse or support grabs Mikael's. Realizing that in a 1v1, YI pretty much wins every time (on equal farm post BORK) The enemy team will take team-fight-oriented champions because you cannot splitpush safely with a YI-threat on the board.

Things that would be counter-intuitive (in my opinion): Focusing. Why? Enemy team still has 4 other threats. Such a resource distribution would be dangerous. CC him. Why? He can take cleanse/qss it and high tail it if necessary. If too many stun resources are used, enemy team may force objectives knowing you cannot contest for ~10-15 seconds. He's toilet paper, attack him! Why? Everyone is toilet paper before they get some def items... except for some specialized tank dudes.

Since knock-ups can't be removed, maybe some knockup team comps may be used? Seems predictable and thus susceptible to extremely focused counterpicks/bans though.

The most efficient way I've come up so far is just to play YI.

But then I'd have to buy him and use him... which honestly doesn't sound like a very fun time. RQWE... Where'd their bot lane go? (but seriously, I watched this happen to my bottom lane. I cried)item 3070

that feel when you go yi and press r and q the enemy bot lane and then you start meditation classes and then press e, "where'd their bot lane go?" -"they chilling near turret cuz w after q is op"

use 1 cc to kill him, 2 if he has qss

Poke and cc counter him, much the same they do every melee character not named fizz. If he's jg in laning phase, then warding also helps a lot as it's much easier to "dodge" his power if you know where he is at all times.

"I'm operating under the assumption that any counterplay you use against YI will be exploited by the enemy team to the utmost degree."

If that's so, you also have to assume your team is playing perfectly as well. Otherwise, you're just saying "The enemy team is better. How do I win?".

That being the case, you want to have a strong 1v1'er. Worst case scenario, the strong 1v1'er will be able to 1v1 Yi under his tower and win, even without stacking armor. Irelia is a good example.

You want the rest of your team to be strong at fighting as well, and have knockups, knockbacks and supression. The counterpick thing is nonsense. There are far too many champions with these kinds of cc to specifically counter them. Even if they were to counter perfectly, it doesn't matter that much. Counters can be worked around, via teamplay. You team also positions perfectly.

His team can only help him up to a certain point, because remember, his team is strong at teamfighting without him.

As such, you use 1 uncounterable cc and kill him.

And trust me, if you kill him, even if you use a lot of cc, but your team is indeed strong at teamfighting, you're still going to win the remaining 5v4.

But in general, you're not going to need all of this. Just make sure your team positions properly and focuses him to a decent extent, and you'll be fine. Yi honestly isn't that strong atm, with sated devourer being gone.

Your botlane was just out of position, and other gankers would probably provide the same effect.

And if you really hate him that much, just ban him.
