The definition of a 'Troller'

First off, what do you guys define as a 'Troller'?

Recently, I've tried a new tactic where I let our ADC farm quietly (ish) in a 1v2 lane under tower while I go ward away at the enemy jungle and literally grab the big jungle monsters from their team and smitesteal it. Unfortunately, other lanes fed and lost... but their Cho'Gath jungle was level 2 at 10 minutes. The rest of the team got pissed off at me, decided that sitting in the fountain was the best way to win the game. They just sat there and claimed all their mice batteries had gone out at the same time (Geez who could blame em for that?) while occasionally moving and stealing kill with a global ult (what about your mouse?!). They literally sat in the fountain for the entire second half of the game. Yelled at us (my friend and myself) threatened to report us for assisting the enemy team while they sat in the fountain as our nexus was being destroyed.

EMPHASIS on SITTING IN THE FOUNTAIN

In the end they blamed our loss on us, EVEN THOUGH THEY LOST THEIR LANES, we weren't hard core carries... We were supports that supported the team by keeping them from ganking. We were careful to report missing people in our lanes along with ganking their lanes multiple times SUCCESSFULLY. It was as if trying out a new meta (rather successfully, mind you) instantly excused their own separate losses. In the end it was rather ironic that the people that didn't bother defend our nexus were accusing us of assisting the enemy team. I had the feeling that I was actually the one being trolled. After all, I did my best to win, help out the team etc, but our actions were not received well and basically we were judged as a certain loss the second blitz and eve walked into the enemy jungle, successfully pulled their large krug, stole it, and then proceeded to steal almost every single red and blue buff they had.....

On a separate note.... Any team that actually cooperates actually ends up with a fairly good chance of winning (60-70%), and we usually have vision over most of the enemy jungle from when we get our sight stones to the team fight finale.

;-; Anyways, thoughts and comments? Maybe I was the one that was actually at fault there?

If you feel that way, don't downvote, instead, post a comment below so more people will be exposed to this and won't make the same mistakes I made.

I'm unsure whether you were playing jungle or support, since you said you left your ADC in a 1v2, i assumed you were support but you had smite so that kind of confused me. Regardless, I think your first mistake was leaving your ADC in general. Unless he/she has a strong early game and is capable of surviving a 1v2 and can keep up farm well enough (ex: lane bullies like Cait or Lucian) you shouldn't be leaving your ADC. Having such a squishy champion alone in a lane is like a free kill and your ADC is bound to get dived or harassed so hard they can't even farm, let alone pressure the lane. It's good to ward, and vision is extremely important but I always choose to ward when the bot lane recalls or only has one person defending, otherwise, I wouldn't venture so far as the enemy jungle to ward. I don't know the specifics of your game so it's hard to tell what mistakes you made that could've triggered so much trolling. If one of your laners dies 2 times (or more) without securing one kill, then you should roam and help them out rather than have them continue to feed over and over. Continuing onto your other question, "what defines a troll" and whether straying from the meta is trolling, I'd say that someone is trolling when they stop being serious about cooperating with your team/trying to win. It's not a bad thing to use off-meta picks but you're definitely trolling if there is no logic behind your pick. For example, when picking off-meta picks for support, your champion should always have some kind of cc or sustain for your ADC in lane, such as a stun, snare, knock-ups, or heals that can be used on allies. If you use a champion that has no obvious cc or sustain quality, you're probably stupid or trolling (like if you go Warwick support. His ult ain't bad, but that's just one spell that's up every minute and a half so he isn't a very good pick.) In the situation you just described, the best thing to do was to just mute your teammates that were openly toxic, and concentrate on what ways you could maybe possibly make a comeback earlier in the game. But when it got to the point where almost everyone's mouse was "broken" surrendering is the best option.
