I like the new runes but the Precision tree needs a rework IMO

The Precision tree is problematic for a bunch of reasons. Firstly it's way too class specific. The only class that will ever feel great using the keystones in this tree in its current state is marksmen. I just don't think that's the right direction for the new runes. I'm not saying every keystone should be good on every champion but no path should be so tailored to a single class.

Secondly none of the keystones in this tree cause a player that would use them to play any differently. Oh, you took Press The Attack? Well instead of autoing as much as you can, it's better now if you auto as much as you can. Same story with Fleet Footwork and Lethal Tempo. I'm not against a keystone that benefits auto attack focused champions but at least design it in a way that their auto attack or engagement patterns are altered in some significant manner.

Compare any Precision tree keystone with the experience of taking Unsealed Spellbook, Predator, Dark Harvest or Kleptomancy. Those are all runes which give a player something interesting to manage and play around. The way you play the champion is changed because you have one of those keystones.

I'd just like to see the keystones in Precision to not be as easily quantifiable as they currently are. And also that they'd require some degree of management on my part to be able to make the most of them and so I can actually tell I'm taking a keystone.

Lol I've even went dark harvest on Yasuo because these days you either one shots squishies or die to tanks.

Wouldn't say that many other keystones have much more gameplay involved, and it's pretty much impossible to get keystones for AAs that really have alot gameplay simply cause AAs have very little gameplay.

There are though. Predator, Unsealed Spellbook, Klepto, Dark Harvest, these are all examples of keystones that change the way you play your champion and give you something you can creatively manage your engagements/macro around.

Its hard to get creative when all your doing is right clicking someone to death.

I actually don't have a problem with champions designed around auto attacks but when there are keystones, a whole tree really, that enhances that playstyle without the player needing to change their engagement patterns and/or macro to get the benefits then I think that's poor rune design.

Most of them only have gameply in lane by creating time windows for an engage, ande even then dark harvest lasts so long that you usually either nget that extzra damage automatically within a trade or zone your opponent for nothing but haveing that masterie, not really much thought or gameplay on the user, exept for rare situation when you can get an double proc. However, the precision keystones also have gameplay in the laneingphase. Early on, getting 3 AAs of on one target for PtA isn't as easy and usually is a big commitment that draws minion agro and allows for retaliation. Useing the extra AS 1.5 sec after dealing damage to an opponent is quite challengeing, especially since you need to get off quite some AAs to really have value from it, and after that there is an window that your opponent can use(unlike PTA) Fleet foodwork allows you to play differently, go for quick trades, useing the ms to get away after a single AA, or to follow up with a bit more, and haveing the sustain advantage, especially if paired with the lifesteal minor rune, means you can go for even or bad trades and then play passively to still get ahead in the long run.

You can't really have runes haveing drastic impact on playstyles, one will always choose the ones that are closest to the natural playstyle of a champ unless the rewards would be way out of line for going against that behaviour.

I disagree with your points about Dark Harvest. It's pretty simple with some complex repercussions which is what I think a rune should provide. It can feel good on assassins and powerfarmers. It has a reset mechanic on kill even if you weren't there to assist. I don't think there's any question it alters your macro. You're going to be taking camps or visiting lanes when you might otherwise back if you didn't have it. It's not perfect but it does require some thought to maximize it's benefit.

With PTA if an enemy mispositions you're going to auto them as much as you can. If you didn't have PTA you're still going to auto them as much as you can.

Fleet Footwork again is just kind of vanilla. I think I'd rather see it nerfed to the level of a lesser rune and have it compete with Triumph. I just don't think it's keystone worthy.

Lethal Tempo I kind of like. I do think it significantly alters a champion's engagement pattern and has some creativity to it.

I think some bruisers can work with this tree. While none of the keystones are perfect for them, PTA works.

You are extremely exaggerating saying that it's only marksmen using the tree and its keystone efficiently.

Personally, I am using the tree on a fair amount of divers and juggernauts as well. Some skirmishers use it primarily as well.

So-so. But it's tailormade for ADC's and skirmishers and it's only champs with a kit that can synergize with precision that can use it as well instead of it offering something to them as well.

There shouldn't be two adc damage options in this tree since both support the exact same playstyle. IMO one of these should be reworked to something specifically made for fighters or something. I feel like part of the problem though is that this tree gives pure attack speed as a flavor stat meaning that it is completely garbage on ability based champs who might have some auto-attack resets to proc pta or something. I'd rather if they make it like 50% AS and 50% Adaptive AD/AP or perhaps let us pick out own flavor stats seperatly from the tree because IMO flavor stats are a real limiting factor when it comes to creating creative builds in the new runes.

I think the fundamental issue with any autoattack-based bonus is that, in the current state of the game, it is bound to favor ranged champions when it isn't accompanied by some melee-specific advantage. Because marksmen not only are ranged, but also build a lot of attack speed, any kind of autoattack-based condition that is challenging for melees becomes trivial for them, and as a result any bonus balanced around them becomes crap on melee autoattackers. The fact that we've needed so many melee-only distinctions and melee-specific crutches for bonuses in the past just goes to show that there is an innate imbalance between ranged and melee autoattackers in how they get to apply their damage, and the fact that the current rune system is doing away with that without acknowleding the more fundamental issues at hand does not really come across as favorable to certain classes, particularly fighters. The Precision tree might need a rework because of this, or at least more melee-friendly effects.

Every keystone is about improving your champ strength. I dont see mages going "Oh ill wait until commet it out of CD then i will chain it with my engage" I dont see tanks going "Oh aftershock is off CD im gonna engage NOW and not before when it was off" I've never seen someone say "I wasnt gonna use my entire rotation, but since i took electercude i will" Most keystones dont change your playstyle, they just compliment it

Unsealed spellbook is a terrible keystone, thats why everyone can use it, because it's equally terrible on everyone, flash is mandatory and the 2nd summoner spell doesnt really need change as game goes on, the only ones who can benefit from it is early damage supports who can switch ignite for exhaust later, but even then they have better options. Predetor and dark harvest ARE interesting keystones, and yea you are right they do make you kinda change your playstyle, but those arent the norm, they are unique.

Also precision isnt tailored to one class, it's tailored to attack speed, yea the main benefits are marksman, but it is taken on skrimishers, some juggernatus, and auto attackers like teemo and kayle, that's like complaining that resolve tree is too tailored to tanks and bruisers.
