Maokai support, possibly a great pick against assassins

Maokai is a pretty good support due to his CC, vision, and team wide %damage reduction. %damage reduction can be even stronger with Knight's Vow. He can lock down assassins with his single target CC and targeted snare. In addition, duskblade doesn't disable the saplings, since they're minions and not wards or traps. Edge of Night can be popped with his low CD Q (4 seconds at max rank) or his E.

What do you guys think? Would you rather just have a different support?

The main problem with Maokai is his enormous mana costs, really.

he is better top lane where you get more gold income and scale faster

i have played mao top, jungle mid and support.

cant seem to get him figured out for adc yet

I like mao as a support but he's kinda weak until he hits 6 and really mana hungry. If you can make it work with your adc power to you.

I think the mana problem is a non issue when you don't have to use your Q to farm. If I don't try to poke them with E (which has low damage unless maxed first), I don't have any mana problems. The ult is a different story. Glacial shroud helps a lot.
