I have been wondering ever since I started playing this game why Challanger is the highest rank you can achieve, and not Masters. In my logic, the Master Tier should be the 200 top in each region and the Challangers should be "challenging" the Master Tier Players? Or have I missed something?
It’s a remnant of the old “Challenger series”, which was a tournament for teams to become part of the pro leagues.
The idea is that you would “master the game”, and then go on to “challenge” the pros.
I always viewed it as LCS challenger
I asked this a few months ago and the answer i got was: Master: masters of the game. Challengers: masters of the game seeking to become the 1 and take the throne (brofresco will never give up the throne though).
