Riot has got some explaining to do

So, this new 2v2 round duel is pretty fucking unconsistent and poorly designed. We killed 4 out of 5 on their team, won 2 rounds and they won 2 rounds (atleast 1 REALLY unfair) and pretty much just killed 1 member from our team. Can anyone explain how this unconsistent shit works?

Round 1

Veigar/Jax vs Graves/Shaco

Veigar/Jax both died, Graves/Shaco both survived

RED WIN!

Graves/Shaco both gets removed even though they both survive(????)

Round 2

Teemo/Pyke vs Teemo/Corki

Teemo/Pyke both died, Teemo died and Corki survives.

RED WIN!

Corki WITH SUB 20 % HP GETS TO PLAY NEXT ROUND(?????)

Round 3

Caitlyn vs 0.2Corki (aka. 20 % of a Corki)

Caitlyn survives, Corki dies.

Caitlyn does NOT GET REMOVED, even though Graves/Shaco got REMOVED under the same circumstances**(?????)**

BLUE WIN!(????????)

Round 4

Caitlyn vs Kennen

Caitlyn survives, Kennen dies.

BLUE WIN!

TOTAL SCORE (because appearently we just play 4 rounds even though it's not an odd number meaning we could legitimately end up with a genuine tie):

Blue team survivors: Caitlyn (aka 1 out of 5) Blue team rounds won: (Round 3)(does this one even count??????) Round 4 (aka 1 out of 4)

Red team survivors: Graves, Shaco and Corki (aka 3 out of 5) Red team rounds won: Round 1, Round 2, (what even was Round 3???) (aka 2 out of 4)

_ RIOT "LOGIC"_ Blue team survivors > Red team survivors (aka 1>3) Blue team rounds > Red team rounds (aka 1>2)

OUTCOME!

BLUE WINS OF COURSE; CONGRATULATIONS!!! [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]

As I said, can someone explain, and I am really curious how Riot themselves can make sense out of this. It really isn't fun when you win OR lose games because of unfair disadvantages. The game was pretty much over when they won this event since they got item 3026, which snowballed them to easily win LOOT TEEMO (and also, the TEEMO LOOT was 100 % of the time on their side of the map, just spawning 200 units on our half then running in to their half rest of the time), all getting money (aka fed) and "The Blessing of Janna", which made it impossible for us to comeback.

"It's just a game mode for fun, don't spend 30 minutes making a post when you lost one game of Nexus Blitz""

Well, as I just mentioned, it is not fun to either win OR lose a game like this, and other unfair advantages consistently happens all the time in this game and it is not fun. I want to have some sort of control how the game will go. If the game is just going to be a "Random Win Generator" I can just fucking go flip a coin or something, because atleast that is more consistent.

and then the is the issue that Teemo shrooms and Jhin traps stay on the field between fights.

overall there are certainly issues.. but its still MUCH more fun that rift

And Lissandra's passive still goes off when she isn't part of the duel as well (unless this was changed). So, your allies kill one of the enemies, suddenly Lissandra's passive goes off and helps her allies secure the final kill.

Its a new thing that wasnt there the last time so its probably bugged to shit.

Stuff was like that the last time i played it too.

Will take a long long time before bugs are sorted out since its a new mode, dont hold any expectations, at all except that.

I didn't get to participate in my first prize fight.

I saw a Kled go into a prize fight unmounted because he was low when the event started.

It's an awesome event but it's got some kinks.

Must have used death recap logic.

I have fun in Nexus Blitz tho. Less bullshit than in SR. There are some bugs and they need to be fixed tho. Once the enemy turret hated me and even tho I was no longer under the turret it was still shooting me and killed me xd I actually didn't know what was killing me, I was under my turret trying to survive xd xd

In my experience, it's the opposite. It's a flaming pile of unbalanced dog shit.

HÔPÊ1 votes

It is a good mode, but the game has too much dmg and that makes this mode kinda less fun.

First round is 2v2, winner wins that round.

Next round is another 2v2. If the group that won the first round also wins this round, the last remaining member has to kill the remaining members and the last member solo to win as a come back. If not, it proceeds to the last 1v1.

Winner of the 1v1 wins. Prior matches give you an edge into the 1v1.

The only issue i have ever had with this is when it expected me to 1v1 a darius as an alistar. :s But i was the highest XP member of the team at the time and possibly highest gold.

I’m gonna need to make a differential equation to solve for what point you’re trying to make with this point.

ArtumisPrime9 votes

It's simple.

Red team won the first 2 duels, 2v2. So red team has 4 kills, 3 deaths.

Blue team won the second 2 duels, 1v1. So blue team has 2 kills (+1 from 2v2s)

Corki had to deal with some bullshit of spawning into the 3rd duel at 20% HP, and immediately getting Cait ulted to death, which again, is bullshit.

This brings the kill tally to 4 for red, 3 for blue, and an even duel match point score of 2-2.

OP is saying it is both illogical and bullshit that blue team won, which likely happened because the last duel or two was/were weighted higher than the others.

Pika Fox1 votes

First duel is mostly to determine how duel 3 will go.

If the team that wins duel 1 wins duel 2, then the last member has to kill the remaining members of duel 2 and the last member solo to win the event.

If both teams go 1-1, its a 1v1 for the win.

ArtumisPrime2 votes

So, maybe only have 3 duels.

2 2v2, 1 1v1. That way, you can go through 5 members of a roster without having an overlap, and it's an odd number so best 2 out of 3 wins.

What you're saying makes sense, but is an incredibly stupid and poorly thought-out system.

Pika Fox1 votes

Im assuming its actually fairly well thought out, this way its not just a hard stomp of better comp easily wins and allows individual players to express their abilities more, as well as giving the opportunity for a turn around if the less leveled/gold obtained champs lose by giving the one with higher EXP/Gold the chance to bring it back with overwhelming odds that are relatively reasonable.

It also allows all champs to participate in a meaningful way instead of a best of 3 rounds where the final round might not even get to play, and thus have no impact at all (lost an event where you literally could not participate or play)

ArtumisPrime1 votes

Better comp already wins. Champs like Illaoi, Jax, and Fiora are already better at this type of minigame. The rest of that first paragraph is extremely confusing...but I think you're saying that it's likely for a more fed champ to win vs someone with less resources...which is, of course, true. This will always be the case, and changing the format does not alter this.

In what way does it allow meaningful participation over a best 2 of 3? Yes, there will be times when the last person doesn't get to participate...but as seen in the OP, the opposite is also true...where you can perform better than your opponents and still lose the duels. In what way is that better thought-out, or more fair, when you can lose even though you tied and had better stats?

Pika Fox1 votes

The OP didnt have a team that performed better win the event. Caitlyn had to 1v2 to win the event for her team, and was forced to use her ult to kill corki.

The way the event is structured makes it so you will never lose the event without participating, and can only win the event without participating yet. This is the most fair the event can physically be setup.

ArtumisPrime2 votes

They had an even match point score of 2-2, and more kills/less deaths than the blue team. Are you retarded?

Pika Fox1 votes

They won the final event, their solo killed the remainder of event 2 and the final solo. They performed better overall as a result. The 1v1 are the top two most leveled and fed champions on the team, the final event is the one that matters most. The prior events determine whether or not it will be a "fair" 1v1.

ArtumisPrime2 votes

They did not perform better overall. They had an even match point count, and the red team had more kills (as in they killed more members of the opposing team than the blue team did.) Also Corki spawned in with sub 20% HP at one point.

Pika Fox1 votes

Corki didnt "spawn in with 20% HP", thats the round 2 carry over since they won the first 2 rounds. Its not going to magically restore HP to full, that would be insane.

The prize fight places your most underfarmed/leveled champs in the first fight, which has the least impact in the outcome, the 2nd fight are the next two most farmed/leveled, and the final champion is the most farmed/leveled.

The top 3 champions beat the other top 3 champions.

Same thing happened in one of my games. Irelia and morde. Go in morde dies, irelia survives and wins, she's removed but she's still on the field and invunerable and not targetable. Then khazix and myself I die, kha wins, kha stays for some reason then the enemy kha comes in an blows up the <1/4 health kha then blows up our last teammate, ryze so they win dispite us clearly winning more but whatever. Then our turret glitched and would track people far outside it's range, not actually firing but following, and we had "perma true sight" on people even though nothing was causing it.

That actually kinda make sense, because most times you want to base before an event so you have all the items and full hp/mana. Anivia was probably too greedy farming minions...

I think Nexus Blitz is trash now.

Who thought duels were a good idea? It's sure fun as an ADC having auto loss matches against a Jax/Zed/Yas/2ShotNoSkill champ in a ring where I can't use my team or kite. "Fun".

This mode was fun last year, but it's beyond horrible this year. Every single game I have been in is a one sided snowball with zero chance of a comeback. The new events are stupid and interrupt the flow. And ADCs are again worthless.

Pika Fox3 votes

Thats kind of the point. Not all classes are good at all events. ADs can still do well in duels.

tΙºoºtΙ1 votes

Then you are just trash, I have already twice did 1v2 iklling both and then taking 1v1 and still winning.

Psi212 votes

Nexus Blitz isn't fun and I can't believe Riot wasted this much development time on another failed iteration of a hugely lopsided game because Riot Asia likes this type of crazy fast paced wacky cra-p.

Hammermancer2 votes

first rendition is rough

it should go until one side has no players left

final match should be full hp restore

also if you're singed or amumu with your gas/tears on you'll have no mana

They should refill everyone's resources and reduce their cd's before each round

That's intended and happens to everyone. It prevents stalling for too long.

Happened to me and my team just the game after. We rapidly lost HP and died fast as fuck, yet there were no such effect on the enemy team. Such a shit and poorly made game mode. Testing as broken game mechanics as this belongs to the fucking PBE imo.

Does it work with %max life or is it everytime the same dmg? BC it would be a huge disadvantage for squishy champions compared to tanks if it doesnt work with dmg based on the maxlife of the champion

floo1 votes

Well where do you think they should test this sort of stuff? Definetly not on Public Skin Environment.

KingBlackthorn11 votes

Dude, it is in testing. Chill the fck down. Like bugs, or gameplay stuff is still being worked out.

realnoob1 votes

Basically, the last duel actually decides the event. The other 2 duels just decide how the last duel is carried out (if it will be 1v1, 1v2 (+1), or any other stuff). they expect that since the your team won 2 rounds, you should be able to kill the last person. the last duel if 1v1 is usually between the people with the most gold (regardless of whether they actually buy items or just leave it in their bank).

RonryTeemo1 votes

I will be submitting a bug report and anyone else should do the same.. One of our teammates didn't get to fight, I got stuck staying in after the round we won and i had like 30% hp left. Surprisingly still won but definitely bugged/not working as intended.

Rabbi Shekelberg1 votes

are these players stupid?

Saianna1 votes

That what happens when you forgo testing what you relase in hopes noone will notice blatant errors or bugs. That's shitty game making that is currently dominating whole gaming industry. Make feedback? No, noone reads feedback anymore. It's just empty argument. A "PR shield" that can deflect any criticism.

Ęsdeath1 votes

Wanna talk about the fact you go in a 2v2 and 1v1 "matchups" without getting your cooldowns reset so you can actually have a fair chance of winning?

Pika Fox2 votes

None of the events resets CDs. All events are announced prior, so you can recall, buy and save CDs for them. Dont waste your CDs knowing an event is about to start.

Ęsdeath1 votes

Do you have a brain? You state "prior", but amazingly you don't state how early they announce it, do you? Because it's almost none. I am not gonna prevent myself from using an ultimate of 120 or even 90 seconds, because an announcement is going to be made in 10-20 seconds (40-60 seconds in total).

"Dont waste your CDs knowing an event is about to start." -- My cooldowns generally have 30 seconds cooldown, that's why (lol)

Pika Fox

All events are on a static timed delay. If you havnt had an event in 2 or 3 minutes, probably shouldnt use your long CDs.

Pika Fox1 votes

Ęsdeath1 votes

Come on ... you can't be serious about defending this. It's ridiculous. It's an event, and I expect everyone to have as much fun as I do. You state 2 or 3 minutes. But flash has a 210 second cooldown (more than the time it takes to switch events), so ... if I waste it, should I be punished too? We might as well fold our arms and do nothing in-between each event, if that's the case.

You are asking me to "guess" when the next event will be and to take actions against it. No, it's wrong, and while I respect (though I still don't understand) your view, I am not giving up on this idea.
