That's the issue is it not? We all know what issues are there's no need to over them. We know that if Solo Q comes back this will hurt Q times in both of them and dynamic rankings will lose so much value and meaning that it will be ranked 5's only easier and even less prestigious...basically your reward farming if you play and thats the story.

What you may not have realized is this: Since there is NO ENTRY REQUIREMENTS at all, this makes Bronze equivalent to normal Q...and really even less than normal Q because you start with 1200 MMR which is silver 5..if you place bronze that means your are literally worse than new kids who havent played at all yet (as far as elo and mmr). Because there is no Gating here Bronze is irrelevant, you dont have to earn it, you just get it for clicking the GO button...like ip from normals..its just there. Now if Bronze has ZERO value..that makes silver the true ranked bronze division. Which is bad..because that drops EVERYBODY. Gold=Silver / Platinum=Gold / Diamond=Platinum /Master=Diamond and Challenger=Master. It devalues the entire system.

Well im offering solutions to increase the value of ranked and help with the Sole Vs. Dynamic Queue paradox

Bring back Solo Queue

Allow Dynamic Queue to be the replacement of ranked 5's with its own mmr and rewards, allow hextech crafting to remain in all Queue's

here lies the actual answer. Before a player chooses to play ranked he will be met with a dialogue box

>If you choose to enter the ranked system ALL normal Queue's will be disabled for the entirety of the regular season. IF You qualify. Requirements to qualify are as follows:

  • An average of B champion mastery across all champions played in your placements.
  • 49% win rate minimum.
  • placements will be extended to 20 games for First Time Ranked Accounts All returning players will only have to play 10 placements.
  • Custom games will still be available should you have the need to practice or play unranked unsanctioned matches.
  • You may leave ranked ONCE at anytime per season for free, should you return and try to leave again it will cost 1200 RP
  • Anytime you leave ranked all progress will be wiped out and MMR reset.

Yes i am aware of the mmr reset exploit..if they want to pay to keep resetting their mmr....let the morons pay. Besides, they have 14 smurf accounts anyway so the difference is minimal. Masters smash bronzies on the daily with their unranked to diamond showboat series (Im lookin at you N3AC3Y) So spare me the "it will be abused" song and dance.

This will put a minimum skill level for ranked. Which for all ranked players, dynamic or solo, will raise the effective quality of ALL matches for ALL divisions. Bronze as of today is completely meaningless. Any normal match is just as incoherent and competitive as a bronze 5 match regardless if you go bot lane Azir and Renekton and share farm or pick the strongest meta lane possible. There is no minimum skill for ranked right now, so bronze isnt an achievement its actually a punishment..its a black stain...its a reason for people to put you down and debase you for being "trash"

That isnt right...you are playing competitively and doing your best. Getting Bronze "any division" should matter. So it has to be Gated. Well there is your answer to how to gate it.

Also Bronze should then be worthy of a border and icon just like everybody else once there is an actual hurdle to get into ranked.

This in theory should help with the Q times a little bit. Once you play ranked you have commited to ranked this season and wont be in normal Queue, so splitting between the two ranked options should work out better for "most" people.

The top of the food chain. Well, the only way to help you guys is to get more people in your matches.

2 ways

A. let more lower elo plebs into your challenger/master Q

This is sad face for everybody and you know it

B. help people get better and climb. Create a mentor/coach system in the game where players 2 tiers above or master/challenger can sign up to be coaches and help the plebs become higher ranked and get that challenge rating. It will pay some ration of RP to the coach for each division the student climbs up from where he started. If they drop , they will only get paid once per rank. So plat 5 goes back to gold 1 then to plat 5 again the coach gets RP ONLY for the first time hi got to Plat5, if plat 5 is where he started he will get nothing because he didnt climb anywhere.

Thats what i got, its a start not a perfect system but its the right direction.

Massive issue I have with your little "perfect" system. Disallowing people from playing normals means they can't play around with champions they normally wouldn't play, they can't test new builds or items, and they can't have fun with friends. Please explain the logic there.

Plus gating ranked is kinda stupid for lack of a better response. The whole point of bronze is to be an area where low skill players can learn the ropes of ranked or to stick players who think their team is the problem 90% of the time (Unwilling to learn)

Interesting. I didn't come in thinking i would agree, but i do. People abuse everything anyway, at least make them pay for it. I would love to be able to reset my mmr if i had a rough time or had something going on outside of the game that messed with my mindset. The option to pay for it would be nice and pretty much crush the need for smurfs.

You are on the right path but I think the ideas are far more complicated than they need to be.

These issues exist because the ladder system is broken. Which is essentially what you are saying. If we can fix that, we fix the problem.

For instance, my first promos ever I was placed silver II. Now after playing for a while I realize that there is no way in hell I should've EVER even remotely been placed silver II. Then my most recent promos I actually went 7/3 and carried a few games, bronze 5. LOL, thanks mmr.

The ranking ladder is busted. The tier 5 plugs have to go so players properly go where they belong.

MMR needs to git, its not needed, the system needs to be overhauled.

Riot doesn't just judge champions on win rates alone right? But we judge players that way. Even worse, we judge players performance by their performance with 4 randoms players, against 5 randoms... mostly randoms. It feels like a pretty random matchup, at least at low elo, where I feel this problem will easily be the most evident. Besides that there are tons of smurfs and trolls, so... its pretty random. Games feel mostly like luck.

We need to judge players by performance. For instance, say a straight lp win/loss amount, like +20lp/-20lp per game. Then a modifier if you win/lose in a row. If you won two in a row it would be like +20lp first game, +22lp next game, +26lp next game so on so on. Percentage based scaling. This means you would start to jump divisions naturally after winning a few in a row. Good players would climb really quick, good consistent players- bad would fall really quick. This balances out the ladder.

Match games up by division/tier/lp in that order, and lane. Since the system can match by lane, now we can match accurately. For instance if you match by all of those factors you would end up with a plat5 mid vs a plat5mid, bronze2 support vs bronze2 support, so on. You would play people in your own division and tier. Instead of, the mmr matches, but you may have a gold 4 midlaner vs a silver 3 midlaner, because the match for the gold 4 is toplane. Wonk.

Then you adjust lp according to player performance as well. +1lp per kill, -2 per death, +1 per assist. This means kill stealing won't be an issue, and deaths are punished as they should be. This also means that if you have a shit team making horrible decisions and feeding their asses off, if you play well, you'll lose less LP. Better players are rewarded even in a loss, potentially you could even gain lp in a loss. For instance, if you went 10/1/8 in a game but lost, -20lp for the loss, but +16lp for your performance, -4lp for you for the loss. Regardless of your team.

Plus, players that are carried climb slower than players that carry. A support that goes 1/2/30 gets +49lp if they win the game, someone that won on the team but was 2/4/8 (carried), gets +26lp. The carry support jumps up the ladder, the carried whatever, although they won the game, goes up in lp but not nearly as fast. Better players scale up the ladder appropriately. This also works the opposite direction as bad players would lose even more lp and fall faster. If you feed your ass off you lose a ton of lp.

This would help judge players as players. Not as how they play with 4 randoms. This would bring balance to the ladder and just let players flow where they belong. MMR wouldn't' get in the way, history wouldn't matter, just how you play now. As it should be. As you learn, you would be able to quickly turn your learning into climbing.
