How many of us on the boards actually LIKE the high damage in the game right now?

Count Lieberkuhn·11/27/2017, 12:25:32 AM·60 votes·3,123 views

I'm genuinely curious, because all I see here are players who dislike the current state of the game (including myself), so I want to see what the actual consensus is. Because if Riot are pushing for faster-paced, more damaging games, perhaps it would be good to get some numbers on this.

Apologies if this poll has been done before.

I think late game champions are doing a little too much damage early

Kythers11/27/2017, 12:35:40 AM23 votes

games are way too snowbally, you often lsot before the 5 minute mark with no way to come back, and that's just not fun for anyone

Emerald Fang11/27/2017, 6:46:02 AM21 votes

Holy hell cant agree more. When did league become a game of deleting? The game isn’t about strategy anymore; it’s only about who makes the first mistake. And it all snowballs from there.

DariusDemiurge11/27/2017, 2:57:38 AM10 votes

I dislike it. I dislike this lethality favortism, understand it is "preseason" but still so many champs feel bad. Tank items feel like they do nothing.

Felt like the only reasons I played this weekend is because friends and them having a spare pc for me to use and the skin shards from the event. A couple games were okay mostly with them. Yet most were not that great even when winning.

I love the current feel of league of legends. Damage feels high where it makes sense to and my average game time has not really changed. Wish riot would fix fighters though or make enchanters a little less brainlessly strong one of the two.

Kloqdq11/27/2017, 2:28:41 PM8 votes

I haven't been having much fun with League lately. It's either stomp or be stomped and that just isn't fun for me.

So I play other games because my enjoyment is just not here. If League manages to grab my interest again, sure i'll come back. However until than, i'll have fun else where.

The Bad Touch11/27/2017, 1:09:07 AM6 votes

My last game was on 11/8/17. I don't see that changing.

Answered this poll with my feet lol. On the bright side having a fucking blast playing HotS.

NekoniClaws11/27/2017, 2:45:27 AM5 votes

We have two gamemodes for ultra high damage. Those are URF and Bloodmoon.

I feel like I'm stuck playing them constantly...

We need more lethality buffs item 3147 item 3147 item 3147 item 3147 item 3147 /sarcasm

mosaickle11/27/2017, 12:30:35 AM4 votes

I don't mind since the champions I play always have some form of 'bypassing damage' capabilities, e.g. Lissandra and her R

SpiritOfOdysseus11/27/2017, 12:32:18 PM4 votes

Umm I chose the "Damage is in a perfect spot and games are too short" option

NikeyMoney11/27/2017, 8:47:10 PM4 votes

My problem is when I win I don't feel like I earned it and when I loose I feel like I didn't even get a chance to enjoy the lane phase let alone the game itself... it's not fun to win and it's near impossible to catch back up.

PePsiLemoNN11/27/2017, 1:10:26 PM3 votes

Making a poll on a board which is obviously biased , wonder what the result will be lul.

Even if 200 people here said games are still too long , it would literally mean nothing. Not everyone who plays league wastes their time on boards/reddit or some shit.

Valeckserai11/27/2017, 4:13:19 PM3 votes

I don't want to see damage across the board gutted like what people call for. I just want champions/classes that shouldn't have access to burst not fucking have access to burst. Giving assassins counter play was a good move, now hold everyone else up to the same standard and things will be fine. And no, giving supports more broken active item effects for shielding/healing isn't how to do that, pull power out of those and give it to their kits so they can contribute to the team still, but make it so they exist beyond being a ward/redemption slave chained to their God and master, the ADC. Also, buff towers (actually buff them, not nerf them in disguise like you already did Rito) that will solve game length issues alone.

Rathe611/27/2017, 9:50:53 PM3 votes

I agree with the snowbally comments.

I don't necessarily feel like games are too short. I don't think I've noticed them being horribly shorter than before.

However, I have had a lot of games that I feel like are lost by the 15 minute mark, even if it takes the other team until 30 to 35 minutes to actually fully end the game.

TheFancySkeleton11/27/2017, 11:05:24 PM3 votes

I'm taking a break until damage is lowered. So I guess I'll be gone for a while.

*I'll probably be dead before then. *If I am online, it's because my friends wanted me to.

LoL Tilted One11/28/2017, 6:25:48 AM3 votes

No. Way too much damage. Not only that, but this game has been stuck in the high mobility dash/flash type champions for too long. The ability to run/dash/flash is too much. People are sidestepping skillshots so easy without even having boots. It's just ridiculous.

Ben SwoIo11/27/2017, 6:14:21 AM2 votes

I don't like it. It sucks when someone can just stand still and auto with champs like MissFortune Twitch KogMaw but still out burst you regardless of your orb walkin skill dodging mechanics.

OP Garen Support11/28/2017, 1:10:19 PM2 votes

The problem is not about damage, but its biased favoring AD and ADC . Meanwhile ignoring Juggernauts,Tanks,Mages. IF every role felt satisfying to play then there would be no reason to argue about balance.

GripaAviara11/27/2017, 12:24:44 PM2 votes

I dont, that fking champs like Jhin are pure retardness

Athenes Lulu11/27/2017, 9:48:39 AM2 votes

Don't forget that tanks can do all that "high damage" while building nothing but tank items, yet live much much longer.

It's also like that botlane.

Lock On11/27/2017, 11:44:35 PM2 votes

I stopped playing hypercarries because unless my jungler camps my lane, I'm likely not going to get the chance to scale anyway because my teammates want to surrender at 15 and at that point, they've already stopped giving a fuck because the game is THAT much of a snowball.

Hemoparty11/28/2017, 1:48:33 AM2 votes

"Too fast-paced" isn't the exact right way to express what I feel about the current game state. It's more like it's just too snowbally. First Blood seems to consistently happen around the 6 minute mark in my games, and it feels like if you die in lane once you can't walk back without dying again. I've actually had a good percentage of Rift games get to the 40-minute mark, but not without one team or the other suffering a serial "feeder".

Scary Door11/28/2017, 1:50:25 AM2 votes

Ever since 7.22, I still have yet to have a game last longer than 28 minutes.

I have written this in many other threads, but it needs to be reiterated:

This is obviously the direction that Riot wants the game to go. Faster paced, more damage, greater "omg" factor for the LC$BigPlay$. I don't like it, it really doesn't feel like the same game I fell in love with six-and-a-half years ago, actually I hate the direction it's gone in... with that being said it's just better for everyone that we accept it because it's not going back to the way it was.

There is practically no laning phase any more, there is almost no time to react because of how fast everything does damage. Had a teamfight today that lasted less than 6 seconds...

Jobriq11/27/2017, 12:29:13 PM2 votes

I just think that Zoe's sleep is bullshit.

Z3Sleeper11/28/2017, 2:44:38 PM1 votes

Oh shit this poll tricked me. I read "how many of us like this" and hit "yes" but I meant to vote that I like this >_<

Count Lieberkuhn11/30/2017, 4:31:49 PM1 votes

Hi all, thanks for your input and votes. I'm not sure if Riot will notice or care, but if at least one Rioter noticed this and saw that approximately 76.5% of players (at time of writing) believe that the game is too fast and damaging. It's a small sample size to be sure, but it may well be similar to the results of a much larger sample and Riot should be aware of this.
