@Riot - Suggestion for a low-time/low-cost fix to LeBlanc's model.

Since Riot is revisiting LeBlanc to do a revert/rework, they may as well return to her model so that way she doesn't need to be touched again for a while besides balance. It is more cost and time intuitive to put resources to update an older champion and be able to check one more champion off the list of "visual updates".

Riot doesn't have time to redo all her splash arts, or have there modelers remodel every skin for her - so for the older LeBlanc skins *Classic, Wicked and Prestegious * here are some cost effective fixes to LeBlanc's model. I hope you have noted these things and will bring this 'mini model update' to the table when discussing LeBlanc's revert/rework.

⭐️ Base Skin ⭐️

  • Put two more bones in her current cape rig and smooth out polygons on the cape as well to make it flow nicer, less blocky and low poly.
  • Invest some time into completely rebuilding her belts, they are blocky and huge and don't fit in with the realism other champions have.
  • Import the hands from Ravenborn's model to replace her feet hands that she currently has.
  • Update the textures to be less detailed, more colorful and smoother (like Prestegious LeBlanc's chromas did!)

⭐️Wicked LeBlanc ⭐️

  • Import the hands from Ravenborn's model to replace her feet hands she currently has.
  • Import the waistline of Ravenborn's model to put in the crop-top she has in the splash.
  • Smooth out the jaggedness of the furry parts of her jacket
  • Remove the pockets that are sticking far out from her pants.
  • Update the textures to be less detailed, more colorful and smoother (like Prestegious LeBlanc's chromas did!)

⭐️Prestegious LeBlanc ⭐️

  • Import the hands from Ravenborn's model to replace her feet hands she currently has.

On estimate, all of these changes would take maximum 4-5 days to implement. The most intensive one being the two additional cape bones added to her rig as they would require going through her animations and doing small tweaks to make her cape flow better. If these small tweaks are made, you can cross off LeBlanc's eventual model update for far out in the future and can focus on other future projects that are bigger and require more time. The changes below took me a maximum of 3 hours of just simple resizing and tweaking.

No more feet hands, simple smoothing and some detail to the hair should do her some justice, and just look at that smooth cape! 😍

Riot. Just do it. I'll send you my edited model if you want, if you are going to redo her just fix this champions visuals as well.

Or a full visual update. They are a large company and they have the power. Why put through a change like this if they can just redo her entirely amirite.

They said they'd be putting more focus on visual updates this year anyway.

The only thing I like is the more bones in the cape.

Your proposed changes are way too much work to be "low cost/low time." Animations and rigging isn't Microsoft Paint - You can't just willy nilly copy/paste elements into one model and fix all of it's problems. If you add or replace new elements to a model, you'd have to reattach it to the existing model, which takes more time than you think. You also have to make sure the new elements you're now adding have proper placement on the texture map, and that will now require you to go in and redesign elements of the texture map so that the parts you added to the model have the proper texture displaying. Same especially goes for modifying her belts. Those 3D shapes will have to be removed and rebuilt from scratch, and then applied to the existing rigging and texture map to make sure they move and present properly. Adding in bones in her cape seems like it may be the easiest part, but that still would require a bit of work to unbind the existing animations around the cape (this includes things like her W, as well as her various movements), and then adding in the minor physics engine that they've given to champs like Ahri and Lissandra.

Honestly, what you've suggested is a waste of time. They shouldn't invest in all of this minor, tedious work for a champion who's looking as rough as LeBlanc. They are better off just reinventing her from the ground up in a VGU (her kit has definitely gotten to the point where she needs one), and then going from there.
