Compensation For Rylias Dependent Champions

Based on what I have read it seems very likely item 3116 will become a mana/cdr item similar toitem 3165 . If this doesn't happen the other route that was considered and suggested was lowering the slow amount on it. Either option does not suit three champion in particular

Karthus , Mordekaiser , Singed

Sure Karthus and Singed would not mind the mana portion on the change, but the cdr stat is not something that is usually built on them. Champions like Viktor or Cassiopeia would benefit even more with this change and all the would lose is the health portion. Karthus NEEDS to build health or he gets blown up quickly and he needs the slow since he does not have reliable cc ( even less so with the Nerf on his W). Morde and Singed also need the health portion on Rylias since they don't do burst damage (Morde does with only Q) and do well in extended fights.

If it comes to a point that these champions are worst because of the changes on Rylias it is your job Riot to compensate them like you did with other champions and item changes. When item 3100 was changed, champions who used it were given changes too to neutralize any draw backs. When DFG was removed, champions across the board were changed to help compensate the loss. So if Rylias were changed it would only be fair that you change champions who rely on this item the most like giving them built in or better slows on their kit.

You lost me at Karthus not building CDR.

I mean, you're right that (aside from Zhonya's and possibly runes) Karthus doesn't normally build CDR. Isn't CDR a stat that would hugely benefit Karthus though? Having his ultimate up more often means more free damage on EVERY champion on the enemy team?

CDR is wasted on Karthus...

You would actually be spending money so you can use Ult more often. Literally his two other DPS abilities gain absolutely nothing from CDR.

Karthus ult is not a spell for poking, it is his Grand Finale at the end of a teamfight. That finale needs to have as much damage loaded into it as possible, because he is going to be using it once per teamfight no matter what you do.

You know what's better than 2 petty Karthus ults? 1 Karthus ult that does a billion damage at the end of a teamfight.

A similar comparison would be Fiddlesticks. Everyone knows he has a game changing ult, but that doesn't mean he prioritized CDR at all. In a lategame teamfight, every Fiddle player knows you only got one shot to make or break the fight, so his build is centered around dealing as much damage as possible with that glorious ult.

Edit: They both build Zhonya's for the active so they can maximize their DPS (they both have AOE "toggles" that tick while they're frozen). The CDR is just a free bonus.

His Q is on a short cool down and so is his E. Building CDR just so his ult is up more would mean nothing if the ult doesn't do damage to begin with.

they should just lower the AP on the item. it should have never been increased to begin with.

Lowering the AP would make some not use it but for champs like Cass the slow is good since DOT just refreshes the slow quickly.

That's the point tho. The item should be bought primarily for the slow. But right now, the stats alone carry the item with the slow basically being overkill on a lot of champs.

Riot does not give compensation buffs, they make a post about how they are watching the situation then ignore the problem after patting themselves on the back for a job well done.
