Darius needs a tweak/buff

Pre s5(5.20 update) Darius was pretty much my favorite top. I think we should revert that nerf, because he is so unreliable right now. At level 1, for example, Graves top can easily duel him in melee range, without leaving his range(because he has passive defensive steroid). Tahm Kench and Riven can just pop their shields, Garen can just use W. Trundle's AD debuff(and auto cancel from Q) literally shits on him. Darius's kit forces him to play aggresively early game, yet he lacks the(base stats? early duelling power?) to do so. What i mean is, Darius has completely lost his touch as a lane bully, and is WAY too item reliant right now. And with towers being so weak at this "meta", he can be easily dived by a top lane TahmKench who has only snowballed from one kill and just pop his shield to literally make that tower useless while devouring him and licking him to oblivion. Darius should continue being a lane bully as opposed to late game "hypercarry". He is definitely not a late carry - while it is true that he has true damage(pun intended), lack of base AS and AS growth stat/steroid doesnt let him itemize properly for late game. And his kit is MEANT to have early power - just look, his bleed passive which can stack up to 5 times(hell, it is even called "noxian MIGHT"), his Q is AoE push/damage with heal for sustaining other tops, his W is an auto reset with a slow basically that stalls their escape; E is an AoE pull ability to stop enemies from running; and R is an execute. His kit is meant for playing very aggressive 1-6. So RIOT please reconsider the playstyle of this champion, because he is clearly not a tower-hugging farmer like Nasus, but he just cannot be a lane bully because he gets outtanked and outdamaged.

EDIT:GTFO stupid downvoters

The Dunkmaster is in an ok spot imo right now. He's not the absurd monstrosity he was pre-nerf and I think he's fairly well balanced right now. He loses to most adc top lanes and he should because of the range disadvantage. There will always be unfavorable match ups for my favorite champ, but he sits on a precarious throne because of his snowball potential.

I also hate top champs with mobility up top. I had a Nidalee against me and she wised up real fast to jump out of my Qs. Darius thrives in an environment of low mobility because of his sheer damage. As much as I hate to say it we can't always pick our Dunkmaster, though I'll be damned if I don't try.

Probably good point, but the thing is, i am having a really hard time when playing as a Darius against almost anything(Darius was always losing to Quinn Vayne Teemo Ashe top lanes, and yes Ashe top is a thing). Pantheon, for example, has little mobility - no dash or dodge besides his stun(which he WILL use on Darius), but he outdamages everything.

And I see the same effect when I play AGAINST the Dunkmaster. These lanes are a breeze/free cash for me; He gets outtraded even by Garen or Malphite with ease pre level 6. So, he isn't really in an OK spot and he needs an adjustment. Quick suggestion - buff bases and nerf growth stat.

Well my view is that any ADC top is a hard counter to him. Teemo I have little trouble with because his blind affects AAs not our Q, W, or R. Pro tip imo, don't always rush the popular Black Cleaver, rush what will help in lane the fastest. That CDR and health doesn't matter if an ADC or Teemo bursts you down. If I have Teemo I generally rush Spirit Visage and try to make roaming/TP plays.

Honest question here, how are you being out traded by Garen/Malphite? These are my favorite lanes to play into especially early game with my Q harass.

If you want to be a Dunkmaster or generally improve I recommend grading your gameplay. For instance I always crunch the numbers on the percentage of Qs I landed in lane, how many Es I missed and criticize my mistakes in the extreme. By learning when to initiate and best trade scenarios you can win almost any lane or snowball others.

I wanted to touch on the Pantheon lane quick too. Pantheon should beat the living daylights out of anyone early game, that is his design. He stomps early game, but generally falls off hard unless he gets extremely fed and I'm talking like 6/0 or higher. Darius doesn't get his powerspike until mid-game, but he NEEDS to snowball to be an ungodly monster very similar to Renekton.

No darius can stand up to pantheon pretty well since his base stats and growth are among the best in the game. Of course, once you reach level six, pantheon gets shat on since his ult is of no use.

Other than that I agree. I have no idea how this guy is getting outtraded by a freaking garen of all things. Hes simply bad.
