Point & Click's that could be Skillshots
Here is a comprehensive list of point and click abilities that I believe could be skillshots because of the free damage potential and limited counterplay outside of items like zhonyas, banshees, or resistances period. This was not as well thought out as it probably should have been so no need to flame. This is not an old topic and it has been discussed before I believe, for years. Its obvious that Riot has been straying away from point and click abilities and are favoring skillshots. But what about the pre-existing high damage point and clicks with limited counterplay.
I believe that these abilities could be skillshots to show the actual skill of the summoner and not just freelo damage until the opposing side MUST build against it. I think its absurd at times, the amount of damage Teemo can do from a point and click Q and a few point and click auto attacks. He is not the only champion to have this early game oppression, he was just an example, I love playing Teemo.
(I'm honestly no longer satisfied with how easy some of these abilities are to pull off and it, in some respect, gives a person a false sense of skill, when in reality they contributed nothing other than hovering the mouse over the enemy and clicking on them). Yes there are miss-clicks, thank Allah. A skillshot does not determine the skill-ceiling of an individual but it allows the counter-player to show their skill also in dodging or evading the skill altogether.
This will not however discuss hit boxes. It's just a list that questions how a Rakan Q is a skillshot but a Teemo Q is not? In my opinion, it is more rewarding to land a skillshot than a high damage point and click which some may consider "free damage".
This will not cover all point and clicks. For example, Cam R and Pantheon W should stay how they are. They aren't really projectiles, they are the person using their own body-weight as an ability.
Of course, if most of these abilities were skillshots, it would completely change the use of the ability itself and its effectiveness and of course, its hit-rate. This is something that would be interesting to see,** again I probably didn't put as much thought into this as I could have.**
One of my main issues is ability diversity, basically saying every skill should be F, G, or C may not be diverse and just because Pantheon and Nidalee have a spear, they should not be the same ability. I understand that, at the same time however it raises questions as to how some champions abilities that are very similar react very differently. Some of it is illogical and can be deemed "Riot Logic" huehue Riot Logic is when Yasuo wall blocks certain things and not others, or how Xayah's invulnerability interacts with certain abilities. Or how Ignite doesn't heal Brand kappa. We can also deem some things spaghetti code. No I do not expect Riot to see this or change anything with their game.
The only addition to the skill I will be adding is if they should hit obstructions or not or focus champs distinctively.
F= First enemy hit G= Go through x amount of enemies (dealing a small amount of damage) until it hits a champion (dealing its intended damage or doing its intended ability) or until it reaches it range. (Terrain affects this range on some skills) C= Champs only U= Undecided
Teemo's Q - G Veigar's R - C Pantheon Q - G Luc Q - G Shaco E - F Nunu E - G Katarina Q - F Malphite Q - G Miss Fortune Q - F Gangplank Q - U maybe F Jhin Q - F Viktor Q - U maybe F Elise Q (human form) - is treated as an empowered basic attack so its excluded Vayne E - G or leave it the way it is tho Vayne in most cases can go unpunished for hitting someone on a wall. In some cases you are instadead but this doesn't count as free damage because there are a lot of variables that go into a kill coming from a Vayne E Akali Q - U maybe F Fidds E - F Anivia E - U because she also has a skill shot in her Q that works well and other skills should be like this where you have a choice of where your ability is activated. It can go thru minions but it can also kill minions on reactivation. Kindred E - U maybe G because it is an adjective to her auto attacks and only does its intended ability with the help of auto attacks. Twisted Fate W - G or F Annie Q - G Leblanc Q - F but then again maybe not because her E is already first enemy hit Tristana E - U ( or make it like zil bomb lmao) Kassadin Q - U maybe F like Xerath E. It cant be G because it has to offer shield from hitting an enemy not passing thru a few enemies. Or if it's G, give a shield percentage depending on x amount of minions and if it hits a champ, give full percentage shield. Cass E - G Janna W - G slowing and damaging everything in a small amount and when it hits a champ it does its intended slow amount and damage
