Why is this still a thing? Not why do people build it, they are welcome to do what they want I know. But why is it still at all worthwhile? Supports had their AP ratio's gutted to make sure they didn't just go full AP (yes I know there are support mages, but Leona, Janna? They never hit super hard because their scaling caps out at around 30%), but then you have Amumu, and Malphite etc who still have some ridiculous damage in their kit, which has led to them just building all AP in this last part of the season, and while it doesn't make it 'good' by any stretch it gets really old having somebody go full AP Malphite and just press R every 30s to get kills.

So just curious why this is still a thing riot? If tanks are going to have 50-100% AP scaling in their kits why not give everyone crazy stuff like that? Give mages 70% AD scaling, so that there is incentive to build AD?

For the life of me i have no idea why you suddenly tried to make a connection between mages building ad and tanks building ap.

Ap tanks are offmeta because theyre not as effective as going regular tank. Compared to actual assassins or mages ap tanks tend to have any combination of

Less ap scaling Higher cooldowns Less mobility

This is just personal expetience but as a mordekaiser main ive destroyed every single ap malphite toplane since they just didnt have enough burst.

But ive lost to fizz before because i couldnt outsustain his damage
